We often think that walking righteously in obedience is the only thing that brings our heavenly Father joy. But there is one thing that Messiah repeatedly taught through parables and His own actions. That is, that God joys at the repentance of sinners and there is special celebration in the return of the wayward.

The salvation we share through Messiah is our eternal hope. Not only that, it is undefiled, permanent and guarded by the promises of God the Father, Himself. This week, Pastor Lancaster conveys further the message Peter wrote concerning our salvation. While this imperishable inheritance may bring suffering for a while, that suffering is more valuable than gold in that it brings reward in heaven. Further, it is curiously encouraging to know that even the angels perplexingly stoop to wonder at the salvation we enjoy as redeemed human beings in Messiah.
