There is a lot of fear in our world today. Many are living in fear of war, fear of finances, fear of the end, fear of rejection, etc. While the world lives in fear, the one who follows Jesus can live in confidence and with courage. This message challenges us to live out the Abundant Courage we can find when we trust in God.

The King has a dream. No one knows what the dream is so interpretation is impossible.The Kings Magicians and see sayers say that only the gods who don't live among man can tell the king what he dreamed.The king is going to have all the men killed if no one comes up with the dream and its meaning. Daniel seeks God. God shows him the dream. Daniel praises God. Daniel talks to the king and says God alone is the one who can give the meaning.

The world is divided into seekers and non-seekers, as we see in Acts, but the purpose of God's people is to be a light to the nations. Jesus' band was seekers and he wants them to know that they have found the Father to the degree that they are in union with him and meditate on his words and works. Yet because he is going to the Father, he will release the mission of the people of God to them; that is, he will be in them speaking the Father's words and doing the Father's works. They will be his face in mission to the world. That is the standard by which to judge what we do in mission.

Resurrection of Christ is the hinge point of history around which all history flows and towards which all prophecy points. This should reorient our thinking - a process we constantly renew - when we measure all by the "things that are above" where "Christ is" and our joining him in his triumphant return to this world to transform it.

The promise of the prophets was that gentiles would seek the Lord, but it was forgotten. It was magi who sought the Lord due to astral revelation, while the people of Jerusalem either ignored their presence or recited the revelation they had without acting upon it. The magi found the Lord. Paul points out that the apostles had a revelation about the inclusion of the gentiles in the people of God and they have passed it down to us. It is for us to reach out beyond our boundaries to those "others" and call them to come with us so that we both find

People seek the Lord at strange times and in strange ways and for strange things. He always responds, "What do you seek?" Then he meets appropriate needs. We need, then, to be bold in seeking God, but also to be bold in acting like God when we find those who are seeking.
