Christians, we must love one another... 1. Because this is God's fervent command for His church. 2. Because this is God's firm command for His church. 3. Because this is God's finest command for His church. 4. Because this command is the true flag of our faith.

Believing in Jesus gives us: 1. peace with God (vs. 1). 2. a pathway to God (vs. 1-2). 3. praise for God (vs. 2). 4. progress from God (vs. 2-4). 5. an out-pouring of God's love (vs. 5).

God wants us to serve the Lord with gladness. Here's how: 1. We need the right appreciation for everyone (vs. 3-5). 2. We need the right participation from everyone (vs. 6-8). 3. We need the right foundation for everyone (vs. 9).

We must live by God's love... 1. Because we are debtors (Rom 13:1-8). 2. Because it transforms our behavior (Rom 13:8-10). 3. Because we have received it from our Savior (Rom 5:5-10; Rom 8:28-39).

In today's Scripture God wants us to know: 1. That this is an old commandment (vs. 7). 2. That this is a new commandment (vs. 8). 3. That this is the only way to walk in the light of the Lord (vs. 9-11).

God wants us to be... 1. Authentic and affectionate (vs. 9-10). 2. Humble and hard-working (vs. 10-11, 16). 3. Hopeful and helpful (vs. 12-13). 4. Sympathetic and same-minded (vs. 14-16).

How should we see Jesus Christ? 1. See Him shining in the light of His glory (vs. 1-2). 2. See Him as Lord over all the Old Testament (vs. 3). 3. See Him living the only perfect life (vs. 4-5). 4. See Him having amazing love for us (vs. 4-9).

That's why... 1. God gave us a preacher of unity (vs. 1). 2. God puts a priority on our unity (vs. 3). 3. God points us to His pattern of unity (vs. 4-6).

1. God's love is undeserved. 2. God's love is unmatched. 3. God's love is unending.

How can we live in a worthy way for Jesus Christ? 1. Head toward humility (vs. 2). 2. Move forward with meekness (vs. 2). 3. Learn to be longsuffering (vs. 2). 4. Be led by godly love (vs. 2). 5. Pursue godly peace (vs. 3).
