Eternal life and Answered Prayer

For the Believer, there is ONE most significant life-altering moment that we remember, our salvation from sin through the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Anybody who is even remotely familiar with the Old Testament knows about Israel and golden calf. Moses was on the mountain of God, receiving much instruction from the Lord. The Lord himself wrote the 10 Commandments on 2 stone tablets. Meanwhile, Israel was having a fit for themselves--much to the Lord's great displeasure. How great? What did God do? Show amazing mercy and grace, and severe discipline as only he can. Can Christians learn anything from this sordid episode in Israel's history? Come with the Grace United crew as we witness Israel's Discipline in the Desert.

We know God that cares for us because... 1. He will give us the ultimate understanding (vs. 23a, 25). 2. He hears our cries for help (vs. 23b-24). 3. Jesus makes us friends with His Father (vs. 23-27). 4. Jesus came to die on the cross for us (vs. 28).

How Should We Respond to God's Amazing Love? 1. God wants us to appreciate His love (vs. 9,13). 2. God wants us to abide in His love (vs. 9-11). 3. God wants us to apply His love (vs. 12-16).

God wants us... 1.To call on Him with confidence (vs. 13-15). 2. To learn the limits of His patience (vs. 16-17). 3. To live in obedience to Him (vs. 18-21).

1. The Lord wants us to pray thankfully (vs. 5-6). 2. The Lord wants us to pray humbly (vs. 7). 3. The Lord wants us to pray unselfishly (vs. 8-9). 4. The Lord will answer happily (vs. 10). 5. The Lord will answer generously (vs. 11-13).

Pray like Jabez! 1. Pray for God's provision. 2. Pray for God's possibility. 3. Pray for God's power. 4. Pray for God's protection.

Pray... 1. Because people are blind to the danger they are in (vs. 1-6). 2. Because there may be no other way we can help (vs. 7-10). 3. Because the Lord is willing to hear (vs. 10-13). 4. Because prayer works in amazing ways (vs. 13-14).

Since God sees us every moment, we should... 1. Be generous givers (vs. 1-3). 2. Be people of prayer (vs. 5-8). 3. Pay attention to our attitudes (vs. 1-6). 4. Rejoice in our rewards from God (vs. 3-4, 6). 5. Recognize that we can always rely on God (vs. 7-8).

1. Notice Jacob’s struggle with God. 2. Notice God’s strategy with Jacob. 3. Notice Jacob’s success with God.

How can we get to revival? 1. Humble our hearts before the Lord. 2. Put a higher priority on prayer. 3. Sincerely seek the Savior. 4. Turn away from our sins.

1. God reveals Himself to us. 2. We make our requests to God. 3. God always gives right response.

How can we defeat the darkness? 1. Put a priority on prayer (vs. 1-5). 2. Rely on our Redeemer (vs. 6-16). 3. Strive to stick together (vs. 12-16). 4. Live in loyalty to the Lord (vs. 17).

1. Look back at the Lord's faithfulness (vs. 9). 2. Admit our sinful shortcomings (vs. 10). 3. Keep trusting in God's truth (vs. 9,10,12). 4. Keep serving our Savior (vs. 10). 5. Give God the glory for the good things in your life (vs. 10). 6. Tell God about your troubles (vs. 11).
