Repentance means attitude adjustment. Repent from acting as if you don't matter to God to a conviction that you do matter to God. If you want to change your attitude, think about gratitude. Count the blessings. Develop a habit of counting the blessings every morning and count the blessings every night.
Introduction VIDEO - 1:30 What kind of reputation would we have if we put that into practice? All around us there are needs. Do we see them? Do we care? Are we so focused on ourselves and what we want that we are missing the needs of those around us? “If Jesus is the hope of the world, then we are His…

We often find God's words and actions do not make any sense to us. They are illogical and counterintuitive. In this scripture passage, the disciples encountered a series of counterintuitive statements made by Jesus, and felt embarrassed and confused. How do we develop the divine mindset so that our thoughts and actions will be aligned with Christ? The sermon wrestles with ways to develop divine mindset in light of this passage (Mark 9:30-37). My written sermons are not polished because they are ment to be verbally delivered. However, please enjoy and feel free to discuss with me and your comments are always welcomed. Grace and peace! The COVID-19 pandemic reminds us of the frailty of life and the uncertainty of this world. This morning I will share with you a six-piece suit of armor from EASTER that can protect your mind from the the invisible enemy that drives you insane.
Living in this fallen world, we all have encountered infelicity and injustice. This is the reality of life. The Buddhists call this world “a sea of suffering.” The Chinese call it “Kuhai 苦海”. In fact, the Chinese word for suffering 苦 resemble a human face, indicating life itself is a suffering and we are born to suffer. We all came into this world with a loud cry. I am not being negative here but being realistic because we cannot overcome suffering by denying it. The story in Mark 10:46-52 gives us insights on how to surf the sea of suffering. Let's take a look!
Paul draws a dramatic difference between the lost and the saved. The lost reflect a fallen condition with is slavery and destruction. However, the believer in Christ has a distinctive advantage and difference. The Indwelling Holy Spirit gives us new pursuits and a new life. It reflects what it means to be free from the law of sin and death.

Romans continues its theme of reminding believers about our new life found in Christ. However, Paul adds another layer – The Holy Spirit. Our salvation is orchestrated by the Father, carried out by the son, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. This passage describes how the Holy Spirit walks side by side with us as we live out our new life in Christ. This should be a great comfort to the struggling Christian as we pursue a life that is continually transformed into the likeness of Christ.
Design for Discipleship
Today Pastor Chase brings everyone up to speed on what our next steps are as a church in response to COVID-19. After that we talk about a subject that has been mentioned a few times throughout our last two sermons, "A Renewed Mind" and how the Holy Spirit works in us to accomplish this. Grab your Bibles and follow along. After the sermon you will hear some testimonies from the body here at FCC and then a time of prayer. We pray that you are blessed as you listen to today's message.
