Paul was a controversial figure even after his conversion. People would tell all sorts of things about him: he was just pretending to be a Christian, he was not a real apostle like the twelve, he had gone too far from the teachings of Jesus. How did he manage all the opposition and criticism? This week Paul will tell us the measures he took to stand against his opponents, and about a meeting with the potential to change the course of Christianity forever.

The extrabiblical letter to Diognetus gives insight into what it meant to be an early Christian. Christians were so different from other groups; they didn't separate themselves culturally: they made deep connections to their communities, but were not attached to the trappings of the culture. Though they did good, they were punished and persecuted, yet they grew in number and slayed dragons. They actively lived in the will of God, in preparation to meet Him!
