Contend for the Faith
Jude is one of the shortest books in the Bible, but packed with significant doctrine. The overall theme of the book is that believers should remain firm in their faith and resist the influence of false teachers. Jude was previously describing certain persons who had crept into the Church unnoticed (…

When I think of father’s in the scriptures many pictures and individuals come to mind… My favorite however is a man we know very little about, his name is Enoch. Genesis 5:21-22 simply states this about him... Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah. Then Enoch walked with God…

In a continuing series on Faith, we look at the short Hebrews 11 citation of Enoch. What exactly did it mean that he "walked with God", and how powerful that must have been to have been taken into heaven by God. A message of reasons to have faith to make through our world today.
In this series, Dr. Mercury Thomas-Ha addresses the concept and idea of faith. Many people express having faith, but the issue may lie in the anchor. Today, let's take a deeper look into "Exploring Our Faith."

I am probably one of the few people who find the long list of names in the bible fascinating. The longest list in the Bible is found in First Chronicles and is 9 chapters long. Full of lots of historical information! You know there is a great deal to learn from those lists! One of the first is in Genesis…

Some people look at Enoch's experience of walking with God and then being taken to heaven without dying and they can't see themselves in his experience. Maybe they think he's a giant of faith that they can't possibly imitate, or they think that he lived in a different time and so they can't experience what he experienced. This sermon looks at the story of enoch and reimagines the reasons for God taking him to heaven, and show that God wants to walk with each of us just like he did with Enoch.

ENOCH (Gen. 5:18; 22-24; Heb. 11:5, 6; Jude 14, 15) Introduction: Enoch must always stand out as one of the great examples from the patriarchal age. Though the account is very brief concerning him, yet there is much we can learn from him. I. He walked with God. (Gen. 5:22,24a) A. Suggests companionship.…

Enoch – Initiated before God Genesis 5:23-24 One of the strangest events that we find in the Bible is what happened to a man named Enoch. They tell us that this name literally means “initiated.” He was chosen by God to give humanity a very special lesson on the value of being holy. God often works that…

Thomas S. Myers Walking With God Genesis 5 Note with in Genesis chapter 5:5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20 And he died... and he died, ....and he died. It reads like an obituary column. One wonders whether it is worth reading. And if you are reading the Bible through in a year, you may be tempted to skip this section…
