Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed, life does not consist in the abundance of possessions."

This week we look at what it means to have faith in God.

God wants to help us have great faith, and this Scripture can help us get there. We need to: 1. Feed our faith on God's Word (vs. 1-7). 2. Humbly compare our life to Christ (vs. 5-8). 3. Get eternal lessons from earthly things (vs. 8-9). 4. Learn the blessings of believing (vs. 9-13).

What matters most in Christian life? 1. Remembering that Jesus is our Judge (vs. 10-12). 2. Walking in the love of God (vs. 13-15, 20-21). 3. Pursuing God's priorities (vs. 16-19). 4. Seeing the importance of faith (vs. 22-23).

God shows us... 1. His sure plan for our salvation (vs. 1-5). 2. The great evil of His enemies (vs. 3-5, 14-16). 3. The great love we should have for our Lord (vs. 6-7). 4. Some great reasons why we should love Jesus (vs. 8-13).

1. Have I measured the value of my life? (vs. 24-26). 2. Have I determined my destiny? (vs. 26). 3. Do I recognize my responsibility before God? (vs. 27). 4. Am I trusting Jesus when I don't understand? (vs. 28). 5. Am I focused on Christ's return? (vs. 27-28).

Here God shows us... 1. His sure plan for our salvation (vs. 1-5). 2. The great evil of His enemies (vs. 3-5, 14-16). 3. The great love we should have for our Lord (vs. 6-7). 4. Some great reasons why we should love Jesus (vs. 8-13).

Never give up on God because... 1. He can break giant barriers down (vs. 30). 2. He can turn sinners into saints (vs. 31). 3. He can turn us into godly heroes (vs. 32-35a). 4. He gives us strength when we suffer (vs. 35b-38). 5. He promises us a perfect ending (vs. 39-40).

1. Faith can let us look into the future. 2. Faith can make us a blessing to our families. 3. Faith gives us something firm to lean on. 4. Faith gives us the forgiveness we need. 5. Faith makes the Promised Land our final home.

1. Notice Jacob’s struggle with God. 2. Notice God’s strategy with Jacob. 3. Notice Jacob’s success with God.

1. Jesus wants us to be confident in Him (John 12:1-2). 2. Jesus wants us to be committed to Him (John 12:2-5, 9-11). 3. Jesus wants to take care of us (John 12:4-8). 4. Jesus wants to commend us (Matthew 26:7-13).

What should we do when life is unfair? 1. Beware of the bitterness trap (vs. 1-10). 2. Take our troubles to the Lord (vs. 10-18). 3. Give our best to God (vs. 11). 4. Rely on God to remember us (vs. 17-20).

1. God reveals Himself to us. 2. We make our requests to God. 3. God always gives right response.

1. Godly faith helps us make the right choices (vs. 24-26). 2. Godly faith helps us overcome our fears (vs. 27). 3. Godly faith finds salvation in the sacrifice of the Lamb (vs. 28). 4. Godly faith trusts God to make a way for us (vs. 29).

1. Follow God over government (Heb 11:23; Exo 1:6-22; Exo 2:1-2). 2. Follow the heroes of our faith (Exo 2:3). 3. Depend on God's divine care (Exo 2:3-9). 4. Pass your faith on to future generations (Exo 2:9-11).

1. Look back at the Lord's faithfulness (vs. 9). 2. Admit our sinful shortcomings (vs. 10). 3. Keep trusting in God's truth (vs. 9,10,12). 4. Keep serving our Savior (vs. 10). 5. Give God the glory for the good things in your life (vs. 10). 6. Tell God about your troubles (vs. 11).
