How can God die? And how can a human pay an infinite debt all sinners owe a perfect, eternal God--a God whom we all have offended. While God's goodness is wonderful, it is still a problem for those who reject God's plan. Those who reject Him deny His existence, His good and merciful nature, His offer of salvation, and the coming judgment. God continues to move with special grace, providing an amazing opportunity for salvation. Come to the cross where sin is paid and sinners are made children of a very good God.

The Lord wants all of his children (no matter the situation that they are in) to give thanks unto him for his wonderful goodness.

God is great in this Scripture, because: 1. He brings good things out of bad things (vs. 11-12). 2. He seeks to save all people (vs. 11-15). 3. He focuses on our faith in Him (vs. 16-21).

Jesus wants us to know how to pray, so He gives us: 1. The lesson of the persistent friend (vs. 5-8). 2. The lesson of God's promises (vs. 7-8). 3. The lesson of a parent's love (vs. 11-13). 4. The lesson of our Heavenly Father's perfection (vs. 13).

We can find comfort... 1. in the Lord's care for us (vs. 1). 2. in the Lord's character (vs. 1-2). 3. in the Lord's power to create (vs. 2-3). 4. in the Lord's cross (vs. 4-6).

We can be confident... 1. In the goodness God gives (vs. 14). 2. In God's grace (vs. 15-17). 3. In the gospel (vs. 16-19). 4. In God (vs. 17-21).

1. We should never accuse Jesus of being sinful (vs. 9-10). 2. We should let Jesus teach us (vs. 11-12). 3. We should treasure what Jesus treasures (vs. 11-12). 4. We should trust Jesus to do what’s best for us (vs. 13-15).
