Some Scripture passages, like this one, are difficult for us as they "seem" to challenge God's character, fairness, goodness, etc. We do not deny, avoid, ignore, correct, or apologize for them, but rather we approach them assuming that what they truly say will indeed show God to be acting true to his nature: just, righteous, holy, loving, etc.
