What does greatness look like? This is not a bad desire nor wrong in many ways. By greatness I may also mean we want someone to notice us and what we do. Is greatness a stat like in baseball? Continuing our study in John, today we are in chapter 3, starting at verse 22. I encourage you to open your bibles to the passage. But instead of just jumping into the passage for today, I want to review something we talked about when we first started our study in John. Why did John write his account…

Micah 5:2 is a famous passage because it predicts that Christ will be born in Bethlehem just as the Gospels record. But the passage has far more blessings then just a prediction. It describes our savior ruling with unprecedented peace and prosperity. It is a rule that will rescue and restore Israel, but will also be a tremendous blessing to the nations.

Jesus heals our sicknesses. Not always how we want, or when we want. Everyone that was healed by Jesus while He was on Earth still died. Those who trust Him are healed eternally and are in His presence awaiting the resurrection. Jesus demonstrated to Israel that He was truly the promised Messiah, God with Us, come to remove the curse upon creation after Adam's sin. Jesus did many great miracles and He still does. Not the least of which, He was raised from the dead and is, therefore, alive now. He has promised to raise everyone who lives and believes in Him. We have truly entered and enjoy His Kingdom knowing freedom from the fear of death! He Himself took our infirmities. Rejoice, we'll live free of sicknesses in the end.
