We pick up our series in Exodus again this week. God’s people have crossed the Red Sea and are setting out for Mount Sinai. Despite all that they’ve seen God do for them, the people begin to complain and grumble when things get difficult. They grumbled against Moses, but ultimately it was against God. God hears our grumbling, yet responds with grace so that we’d choose Jesus and obey. When we choose to obey, we choose blessing. But when we choose to sin, we’re choosing to suffer. The antidote to sinful grumbling is thankfulness.

The Gospel According to Moses

The central issue of Christianity is the cross, for it was upon the cross that Jesus died. All sin of all people, from Adam to the last person to pass through a birth canal was placed on the heart and shoulders of the Lamb of God. What was it that motivated Jesus to do such a thing? It had everything to do with the heart relationship he had with his Father. Push rewind thousands of years. Under the Law of Moses, the central issue between Israel and the Lord was a matter of the heart. Indeed, the heart of the matter is the heart. Come with the Grace United crew as we hear God's call resonate down through the ages: "Give me your heart."

Philippians 7. Let us turn to Paul’s letter to the church at Philippi (Phil 2:12) [P]. “Therefore, my beloved, ….” One of Derek Prince’s catchy sayings was: “If there is a “therefore” find out what it is there for!” And we begin with a “therefore”! There is a connection with what he has said before –…

Thomas S. Myers OVERCOMING OBSTACLES BY FAITH Exodus 17 & Numbers 20 In 1969 our nation performed an incredible task. It sent a group of men to walk on the moon. It takes a great deal of energy to creak the barrier of gravity and to send a space ship to the moon and back. There is also a barrier that…
