Preaching Through the Bible
Confession of Faith Confession of Sin Confession is aligning myself with God’s truth. Jesus is Lord I am a Child of God I have sinned 13 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. Confess and Forsake sin. Don’t Conceal! 14 Blessed is…
TITT: Many needed healing and release from demon. Sometimes, it’s obvious when healing is needed. Simon’s (Peter) mother-in-law was sick with a fever. She probably lived in Peter’s house because her husband had passed away. Simon Peter was worried about his mother-in-law. Fever means there is an infection…
You all have heard that the coronavirus is still beyond the control of the healthcare professionals and authorities. The vaccine availability is still at least a year and a half away. Is there something we can do in the meantime? The good news is yes. It is a timely subject to talk about on this first Sunday of Lent. Jesus has an answer for us. I’ll show you from today’s scripture lesson how to brace yourself against all treats.

A Church That Functions Biblically
Introduction Your leg does not come off. That’s the sad news my parents had to deliver to my brother as he tugged at his lower leg, trying to remove it. You see we had visited our great aunt and uncle, and after showing us around their property we went inside and Auntie Zoe took off her leg. She had…
We are sick with a disease that eats away and destroys our unique construction. What white ants are to wood buildings, sin is to our lives. Sin digs down deep into our “spirit” and takes hold, and this disease corrupts every area of life. It corrupts “our thoughts, our behaviours, our desires, and our emotions”. (Haddow, Catherine. (2017). Emotions: Mirrors of the Heart. (pg. 20). Leyland, England. 10Publishing.)

Why was Abram chosen to become Abraham and the ancestor of many nations? What did he do that warranted that type of attention from God? In short -- NOTHING. Abraham didn't warrant God's blessing, and neither do we. This story is the beginning of God dealing differently with God's people. We are chosen by God to be blessed because we exist, and because God wants us to be blessed.

Have you ever met someone whose life was characterized by their prayer life? Prayer is a time of refreshment. Howard Taylor says of his father, Hudson Taylor, “For forty years the sun never rose on China that God didn’t find him on his knees.” —Howard Taylor, Hudson Taylor and the China Inland Mission…
7 Powerful Conversations
Point to a healthy church and more than likely, its led by healthy leaders. But even healthy leaders can have set-backs, which can lead to stress and anxiety. If that leader’s not careful, burnout can be right around the corner. And that burnout can impact the entire congregation. How can we prevent ministry burnout? How do we restore someone who has burnt out? Today we look at the Acts account of John Mark, a leader who was burnt out but thankfully, restored.

With his hands, Jesus heals Jairus’ daughter and another woman in more ways than one. How might he heal us, and use our hands to heal others? Our apologies for Heather's answers not recording, we are working on fixing this!

Do you know about life in the waiting room? This Stay at Home order has got to spark some of those feelings for you right? You’re alternate between anxiety and hopefulness, trying to distract yourself from what's going on in the “Operating Room.” You are between two rooms. Right now the waiting room might be filled with concern for your employment, your retirement, your own personal health or those you love. Luke 8:22-24 As we go through life we face various types of storms. But, whatever the storm that arises, we can be assured that God is in control and He can give us calm in and through the storm.
Mark 5:21-43 There are many inconveniences in life. Some more frustrating than others. Looking at Mark 5 we see some of life's inconveniences, but we also see Jesus conveniently working through those inconveniences to produce stronger character, stronger faith, stronger Christians.

We humans are all dead in our trespasses and sins. We have no life in us. It is the effectual call of Jesus, the giver and sustainer of life, that revives and enables us to trust Him. He cares not about the way of our traditions, especially those we use to put ourselves above others and to neglect our acts of service and charity (love) to our neighbor. We are those who excuse ourselves from obedience for myriads of reasons, all of which we excuse in ourselves and condemn in others. What hypocrites we are! True life, eternal life, is in the Father and in the Son, Jesus. He gives life to whomever He wills. Let us be those who diligently search the sscriptures, that we might know God as He reveals Himself through the prophets and apostles. But... let us not stop with having knowledge... let us go on to commune with Jesus, let us respond to Him, let us come to Him... and find life. It's okay to be sad. Jesus and His Kingdom message are true even if you don't feel anything. Jesus speaks the truth without all the modern hype. We're deceived by trying to live from dopamine rush to dopamine rush and calling that 'spiritual life'. The Father is seeking those who will worhip Him in Spirit and truth. Worship is not a type of song. It is not necessarily singing songs at all. Workship is bowing yourself down to something. Bowing down, in your heart, to someone or something, is workship. Jesus is able to save the sick, yes, but when should He stop? When would it be okay for Him to let someone you love die. Does death matter? Does life matter? If there is eternal life, if there is resurrection, then it matters more than we seem to think. These thoughts shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge TLH in Tallahassee, FL on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
