At the beginning of a new year it's good to be reminded that life is a journey – a road on which we walk and a direction in which we travel. But more than that, life is a running race, as the writer of Hebrews reminds us. And because it's a race it has a start and a finish; it requires training and discipline; and it has spectators and supporters. But none of these things are the focus. The focus is Jesus, who runs (and wins) the race before (and for) us, who is our prize at the finish line, and who is with us every step of the way. Through his grace in the past and his glory in the future, we have all we need to focus on him in the present.

Kelly shared with us today the story of the Prodigal Son. The father was waiting with wide open arms for his lost son to come home. The Father does the same with us. God is always home. He always leaves the light on for us! Is our home a place where God would like to visit? Are we serving and showing the fruit of the Spirit?

Grace United has passed a major milestone: 5 years of being Grace United! We celebrate this great event, owing our very existence as a body of believers to God's generosity, and it's all because of Jesus. Join with us in the celebration as we think back nostalgically, and are challenged to think forward as we anticipate great things from our God for the next 5 years. To HIm be the gloryj!
