A man of great wealth and power in the Jewish synagogue humbled himself at the feet of Jesus to implore for the life of his only daughter. On his way to help Jairus, Jesus was interrupted by a woman who reached out to Him to be healed of her bleeding. How did Jesus receive the request of the religious leader? How did He handle the intterruption of the woman touching him? What about the purity laws of being touched by an unclean person or even touching a dead body? Look at this account in Luke with fresh eyes to increase your faith in Jesus the Christ. Believe!

Mark 2020-2021
Jason Stuart Percy • Refuge TLH • Sermon • • 30 views • 1:03:24
Often, even as followers of Jesus, we find our immediate response regarding behavioral psychological issues to be more in line with an unbelieving, materialistic, naturalistic worldview. This, in spite of the fact that Jesus regularly dealt with, talked about, and affirmed the reality of the meta-physical, the unseen spiritual world in which we live. At the very least, we should pause and pray, consider, and seek the LORD in the situations in which we find ourselves in relation to the people around us in regard to both their and our behavior. Maybe there's more to humans that random, electrical impulses, synapses, and chemicals. Where do we draw the line anyhow? And who gets to decide where that line even is? God has made a world full of powerful elements. Medicine can be good. We ought to trust in God and be wise. We are to live by faith. Shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge Christian Fellowship Tallahassee on Sunday, February 23, 2020.

Introduction: We are in a section of Luke’s gospel account that focuses on presenting Jesus as the all powerful Lord of the universe. In v.22-25 we saw Jesus calm a storm on the sea of Galilee by just speaking to it. Mark 4:39 records for us Jesus words “Peace, be still.” Proving that Jesus is Lord over…

Pastor Scamman • St. Paul Lutheran Church • Sermon • • 25 views • 13:23
In the Gospels we often find Jesus mingling with troubled people, people who are miserable, afflicted, and distressed. This is where Jesus wants to be. He wants to be among such people and be found by them. Among these poor people alone can His Word and work find room. People who are secure, powerful,…

For the next two weeks, we have a story within a story, better yet, a miracle within a miracle. These two narratives are about faith. We are going to meet a VIP named Jairus. He’s godly, well respected, and wealthy. We’re also going to meet a woman who is the opposite of Jairus. She is synchronistic (not perfect, not whole) in her faith, despised, and destitute. This woman is so unimportant; we don’t even know her name. And yet, these two people who are polar opposites have much in common.

We must believe...
1. That Jesus can do the impossible (vs. 18).
2. When His help is delayed (vs. 19-22).
3. When the crowd doubts (vs. 23-24).
4. Because we will surely see more miracles (vs. 24-26, 22).

Are you still amazed by Jesus? In today's message, we meet two people who are amazed by Jesus. The first is a wealthy person who would willingly give up everything he has to save the daughter he loves. The other is a woman who has nothing left to lose. Yet, each one had their life radically changed by an encounter with Jesus.

Somebody once said the two greatest enemies of faith are unbelief and fear. Unbelief is rebellion against reality, a choice to reject what you know to be true. Romans 1:18–19 18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,…

The last few weeks, not to mention the last few years, challenged Viola. When I met her she could barely see and hardly hear. You know, deaf in one ear, can’t hear in the other.
