The Book of Romans
INTRODUCTION . 25 For I do not want you, brothers, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “ THE DELIVERER…

Summary: In Romans 9:1-13 Paul begins to show how God will keep His promises to Israel through the “children of the promise” who God chooses. Cancelled? Are God’s promises to Israel cancelled? Jews/Israelites are not guaranteed receiving the promised blessings by their nationality. But God promised those…
Ephesians 2: 11-18 Last week we were able to see that there is nothing that we can do to earn our salvation and we saw that it is only by the Grace of God that we are what we are today. And now that we are one of His we are to walk in His righteousness and work for Him. Now we come to Paul's second paragraph…
Introduction This next chapter is a difficult one for me. How are we as Christians to respond to it. Do we celebrate with the Jews? This is a chapter that is exciting for the Jews but what are we to do with it? Esther 9 :1-5 1 In the twelfth month, that is the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, on…

Last week we started a series called bridge builders. We learned that it takes the right blueprints to build a bridge and that bridge be successful. Today we want to look at the next process and that is having the right tools for the project. During the American Revolution, a man in civilian clothes…
Mark 13:9-13 Intro : Listen to a few facts that ought to cause us to stop and think. · A Chinese Pastor is arrested and thrown into prison. His sons are beaten by the police. Indian Christians were driven from their home and forced to march through a jungle to safety to avoid people intent on their murder.…
Who deserves the judgment of God? What judgement? (1:32) - the sentence of death/punishment The wrong answer (vv. 1-5, last time) To judge others as worthy of God’s judgment…but not yourself. The question is not how does one compare…but is one guilty of any sin (1:29-31). The sin of anyone’s life is…

1._God made a choice_ The apostles and elders met to consider this question. After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 1. God made a choice…

Jesus gave His life as a ransom for ours. He died for our sins. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him. He laid down His life demonstrating the love of God for sinners. Anyone may be rescued from sin, death, hell, judgment, by trusting in Jesus. He, alone, is our hope for redemption. We have no other Savior. He rescues everyone who trusts Him. Let us be a people firmly planted on the solid ground that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and has been raised from the dead. He is, therefore, alive now, receiving all those who place their trust in Him. Shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge Christian Fellowship Tallahassee on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

It's okay to be sad. Jesus and His Kingdom message are true even if you don't feel anything. Jesus speaks the truth without all the modern hype. We're deceived by trying to live from dopamine rush to dopamine rush and calling that 'spiritual life'. The Father is seeking those who will worhip Him in Spirit and truth. Worship is not a type of song. It is not necessarily singing songs at all. Workship is bowing yourself down to something. Bowing down, in your heart, to someone or something, is workship. Jesus is able to save the sick, yes, but when should He stop? When would it be okay for Him to let someone you love die. Does death matter? Does life matter? If there is eternal life, if there is resurrection, then it matters more than we seem to think. These thoughts shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge TLH in Tallahassee, FL on Sunday, November 28, 2021.

What exactly is the gospel? A popular hymn includes the lyrics, "It is enough that Jesus died and that he died for me." Is Jesus dying on the cross for my sins because he loved me so much enough to "qualify" for the gospel? (Spoiler alert: it is not). What did Paul actually say the gospel was and is? It might surprise you! Come with the Grace United crew as we are reminded of what the Gospel of Christ is.

Whom did Jesus say should repent? What will happen to churches built on the doctrines of men? Who was Jesus? What is the rock on which He would build His church? When was the kingdom of God to arrive?
What did Jesus offer as evidence for being the Christ to the disciples of John? What link did Jesus make between John the Baptist and prophecy? What is Jesus inviting us to when He says "take my yoke upon you"?

Traditions easily become used as a way to enforce prejudice. Especially after several generations of practice. We can forget to see the needs and the people around us and obey teh command to love them because we are so busy trying to keep our traditions. People are more important than our man-made traditions. Showing mercy is better than not healing on the Sabbath. While we struggle to understand and believe who Jesus really is, the demonic realm is absolutely sure of Him. And they tremble. Too bad we don't. Frequently the world sees Jesus and His followers as those who are out of their minds because spiritually things must be discerned by God's Spirit. His Spirit is in those who believe Him. The Jewish leaders blasphemed God's Spirit by attributing Jesus' works to the power of Satan. Even so, Jesus has come and is making a new family of all those who believe, both Jew and Gentile. Shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge Christian Fellowship Tallahassee on Sunday, February 9, 2020.
