In this sermon, Bishop Charles uses the story of mothers and oil to let you know that when you trust God, you can be limitless even though things look limited. Anything you have is a good place to start, if you're looking for a miracle.

Often, even as followers of Jesus, we find our immediate response regarding behavioral psychological issues to be more in line with an unbelieving, materialistic, naturalistic worldview. This, in spite of the fact that Jesus regularly dealt with, talked about, and affirmed the reality of the meta-physical, the unseen spiritual world in which we live. At the very least, we should pause and pray, consider, and seek the LORD in the situations in which we find ourselves in relation to the people around us in regard to both their and our behavior. Maybe there's more to humans that random, electrical impulses, synapses, and chemicals. Where do we draw the line anyhow? And who gets to decide where that line even is? God has made a world full of powerful elements. Medicine can be good. We ought to trust in God and be wise. We are to live by faith. By Pastor Glenn Pease Most of us probably have some money in a saving account where it is insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Cooperation, or FDIC for short. This brilliant idea which saved the banks after the depression, and saves all savers a lot of anxiety is a gift God gave to the American people…

By Pastor Glenn Pease In the 1925 Rose Bowl game Notre Dame beat Stanford 27 to 10 in spite of the fact that Standford made the most first downs. Pop Warner said his team should be considered the winner in spite of the score, and Rockne replied, "Right, and next summer we'll decide baseball games by…

By Pastor Glenn Pease God loves to get His will done in this world by means of little things, little places, and little people. You and I are conditioned to look for big things like New York, London, or Paris, but God with His infinite sense of humor often has His eye on hick towns like Bethlehem or…

By Pastor Glenn Pease About 100 years ago an English clergyman named Whiting was sailing in the Mediterranean when a storm broke of unusual fury, and hurricane winds. The waves were like mountains, and they came crashing against the ship, and all on board felt doomed, for the life boats were useless…

By Pastor Glenn Pease On April 18, 1906 San Francisco went through the worst catastrophe of California history. An earthquake devastated the city, and a fire broke out that left that once thriving metropolis a heap of smoldering ruins. The cost in lives and property was beyond calculation. Yet, in the…

By Pastor Glenn Pease The world is full of interesting stories about numbers. For example, why does the President get a 21 gun salute. It all began in 1776 when Francis Hopkinson, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, noticed that if you add up the numbers in 1776 they come to 21. He…

By Pastor Glenn Pease A minister was visiting a state asylum, and was being shown around by the superintendent. On the first floor a man sat in a rocking chair moaning, "O Mary, why did you do it?" The superintendent said, "This is a very sad case of a man jilted in love." Continuing on the tour they…

By Pastor Glenn Pease Have you ever heard or read of such a unique and perfectly planned crime that you said to yourself, "That was really clever"? For example, was it not amazing that that group of men in England could steal millions of dollars without firing a shot? We have to admit it was a bad thing…

By Pastor Glenn Pease You will, no doubt, think me strange for saying it, but I am thankful for my ignorance. It gives me so much to be thankful for. My vast ocean of ignorance is my playground where I can fish for new insights, and I can dive for the sunken treasure of golden truths that lay hidden…

Introduction: Do we really love God? Have we turned away from sin? Have we been born of God? · If we live in sin, if we are enslaved by the habits of sin, this is a clear sign we do not love God. But if we have turned away from sin, if the habits of sin have been broken by Christ and permanently conquered…
