Self-sacrificing love exemplified in Christ.

Christ's Triumphal Entry was the formal offering of himself, laying down His life for His friends. Through abiding in Him, we are called to an ultimate act of love for the brethren. We abide by reading, reflecting, discussing and listening to His Word. We abide by coming to Him in prayer and we ask for strength to be faithful. Abiding in Him is the path to joy.

Learning to abide in Christ is the key to living a fruitful christian life. We can do nothing without Him. Learning to abide is a spiritual discipline.

Every Christ has those times when they don't "feel" like they are walking with Christ. John tells his readers they can know they are of the truth, walking with Christ, when they love one another in true deeds. These acts of love indicate they are holding God's hand.

All Christians should take a look at how they are doing in their walk with God. One way to do this is to see how you are doing at loving your fellow Christians. Another is to look at what you confess publicly about Jesus Christ.

As Christians, we need to have our priorities line up with God's priorities. Our focus in life needs to be on what God is focused on. One of the great priorities of the Gospel is to love one another as Christ loved us.
