Johnny Enlow will ufold God plan to the church to transform the world with the gospel of the Kingdom

[The last part of this recording was lost. Our apologies]. As Jesus commences "The Sermon on the Mount" he speaks to his followers: those who have repented and turned their lives towards him. Now he begins explaining what life in the kingdom of heaven (following him) is like. He explains how his followers should be, not so they can enter heaven, but because they already have. Christians follow Jesus for God's glory for the good of others.

Christians are called to be two things: salt and light. Listen as we continue our series on discipleship.

What does it mean to be blessed by God? Can we follow Jesus without turning back?

The beginning of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount would have been a great encouragement to an oppressed people group who were not at the center of Roman Empire Life. I'm afraid we're too close to the empire to find His Words as comforting. Where should we go from here? LORD humble us to see how we might love our neighbors. This message was for the people, not to the empire. Jesus message reminds us of the Blessed and Cursed pronouncements of Israel as they were about to conquer the promised land. If Jesus' Kingdom has the same end goals, motivations, and methods as every other Kingdom of the World, it is useless. Jesus' Kingdom isn't like ANY other Kingdom. And His Kingdom goes on forever, won't you join Him? Trust that Jesus, God in a human body, died on the cross for your sins, believe that He was buried, and that He has now been raised from the dead and He will rescue you! Call on Him to be saved from this messed up world, from your messed up mind, messed up life! He will come to you, if you'll trust in Him and stop trusting in yourself, trying to be your own god, and pushing His Way, and His Kingdom aside. God has made this Jesus, both LORD and Messiah! The just shall live by faith. Jesus has fulfilled the law of Moses. Those who trust that He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and has been raised are justified by believing, by trusting Him. We cannot do enough good things to earn a place in God's perfect Kingdom. We must have His righteousness given to us as a gift in order to enter. In the Kingdom, we are no longer bound to Moses law. We recognize that all the law is fulfilled in this, Loving God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and loving our neighbor as ourself. Jesus is our redeemer, saviour. He is both just and the justifier of all those who come to God through Him. There is no other mediator between God and man. Just Jesus. Please trust in Jesus. He is the only hope for our World. You dig the well before you get thirsty. Weakness is a direct path towards power. Overcoming is greater than deliverance. Prayer is the ultimate fellowship.

Pastor Chuck starts a new sermon series about the “Sermon on the Mount”. He describes how Jesus uses “The Beatitudes” help to us redefine what God wants us to admire in the world. Pastor Chuck provides a unique concept for us to use the Beatitudes as “not the attitudes we should have, but the attitudes we should be.” This week, Pastor Chuck’s topic is “Blessed are the Poor in Spirit.” Pastor Chuck describes how being “blessed” is a continuous spiritual condition of spiritual prosperity (being rich in spirit), contentment, and satisfaction in your life, not a physical feeling or state of physical material possession. Pastor Chuck will explain “one who is ‘poor in spirit’ has humbly recognized they have a deep need for God because they know they lack His Holiness and have a need for His forgiveness, grace, and mercy, and need Him as a Savior.” Pastor Chuck encourages us to become more aware of our desperate everyday need for God and to invite Him into our lives more every day.

Paul teaches that church is more than a destination point. It is a community of grace that flows from each person to each person. The Thessalonian community received the gospel of grace from Paul but become a place of grace for him allowing him to bear his soul.
