One God Throughout scripture, God at times shows himself superior than the gods of the pagans. He shows himself superior to powerful kings and Pharaohs. You are familiar with many of them. Certainly Exodus records how God showed himself powerful. In many of the battles of nations against Israel, God…

Have we reached a final age for Christianity, a post-Christian age? Or have we never been in a Christian age at all?
The last verses of Acts reveal a startling reality about how Christianity interacts with the surrounding cultures which just might turn our ideas about our nation and its history on their heads.

What is true religion? Religion is notoriously difficult to define. James is using a word here that is not often used in the Bible, but is frequently seen in Greek literature to refer to people who are zealous for a particular deity. That is the essence of religion - devoting yourself to a higher being and a higher purpose. James says that the marks of true religion - devotion to the One True God - are an active faith, a sustainable life of service, and a genuine attitude of humility.
Beholding God to Behave Godly for God's Glory
Jeremy Menicucci • Sermon • • 12 views
This section of the series is intended to help us behave Godly for God's glory by watching how God proves His own deity and proves not only the lack of deity of idols but the lack of worth of the idols. God shows himself supremely valuable and worthy of glory as He proves He is the only one true living God and proves that He is the greatest good for all of us. The stricking problem happens in application where we are confronted with our own idols in comparison to God. Who is winning our affections and our attentions, God or our idols?

Tim Martin • First Baptist Church of Stryker • Sermon • • 6 views
One of the most remarkable things about ancient Judaism is that, unlike the surrounding nations that accepted many gods and simply believed theirs to be superior, the God of Israel claimed to be the only God, that there was no other. In this expository sermon from Isa. 45:8-25 Pastor Tim outlines some of the attributes on which He stakes this claim. Sermon begins at about 28:30.

Satan’s World: Pasadena August 12, 2006 When people discuss the Middle East, a term that comes quickly to the fore is Monotheism. GOD: None has been so misused, defiled and mauled. Men have torn it apart into religious factions, have killed for it and died for it: there is no comparable term to designate the supreme reality and yet it is so often used to disguise the worst impieties (Kung, Hans. 79). Who and what is God? Unlearning…
