A conversational prayer life leads to an intimate understanding of the power of our words. By taking a closer look at our words and how they interact with a life of blessing, we will discover prayer and ourselves for that matter, as a conduit of God’s love and blessing for his world.

Mediation, advocacy, and intercession- are prayerful acts of God’s love. Priestly ministry that God calls us to, with an urgency and focus for reconciliation. It is the love of Christ that urges us to mediate on his behalf to the world he thought was worth dying for. Interceding and advocating on behalf of another is an essential, priestly part of an active and healthy prayer life.

Repentance is the pathway to belief in the truth and life it reveals. In the hands of Jesus, the “priestly method” of repentance through ritual cleansing and purification is transformed into an invitation to come home that seeks you out and calls out for you (Luke 15:7,10). Repentance represents the vocation of Jesus, creating a space where the things that would stand between him and us both are removed, enabling those repenting to bear the fruits of being forgiven.

In the OT, prayer was commanded as a labor of the heart (Dt. 11:13). In this desire of God, we are called to serve with all of our heart. Prayer was taught as a gifted process of self-reflection meant to transform humans engaged in it. In the Bible prayer isn’t a means to an end, it’s the point. A two-way connection. Jesus learned how to pray, taught how to his followers, and embodied its impact as an example for everyone in the kingdom of God.
