As Jesus explains John the Baptist's ministry to the crowds who have heard his question about whether Jesus is the expected One, Jesus gives greater clarity to the truth that He is the One all of history has been waiting for.

John the Baptist's life and message caused people to ask questions about who he was. He answered those questions by pointing people to Jesus. Our lives too should raise questions because we're different and we need to use that to point people to Jesus.

By taking Jesus’ question about what myself and others think about him seriously, we will discover so much about him, ourselves, and the world he loves. “Who do you say I am?” Like Moses and Peter, engaging God from a place of knowing who he has revealed himself to be, is the difference between who you and people say he is, and who he actually is. The more I align my understanding of who Jesus is with who he has revealed himself to be, the more distance there is between opinions and who he is.
