"Listening to God sometimes means doing hard things." As the Israelites worship God, the sons of Eli perverted the sacrifices by defiling themselves with it. Eli loved his sons more than God's honor which brought Samuel into a position to tell him the truth about God's judgement. There will be times when embracing God's truth will not bring joy to others, but we need to do the hard things in life.

The Sacrifice of Jesus for us

Often when we read Deuteronomy and Leviticus, we are thrown off by the intricate details, repetitive nature, and seemingly insensible excessive practices of cleansing and sacrifices. We will look at different themes of these laws and apply them to the context of Jesus to better understand the significance of his ministry to the unclean and his role as the sacrificial lamb.
