Introduction: For those of you who don’t know, this is the Washington Monument in Washington DC. When people go to see it, they are amazed by it’s shear size. It is the world’s tallest predominately stone structure in the world and measures around 555 feet and is made mostly of marble, granite, limestone,…
When I do something terrible to my wife, I can't just relate to her as if nothing has happened. I need to follow a process to restore my relationship with her. The same is true with God, who we have offended terribly by our destructive rebellion against his good creation. The difference is that God is perfect and all-powerful. Fortunately God loves us, and he's made it easy for us to approach him--but we still need to do it his way. Listen and find out how. CrossFit, Introduction, God is Looking For a Fit Man

Our CrossFit series begins out of an experience Pastor had while in Jerusalem regarding Atonement. Two goats were used on Day of Atonement, one for the forgiveness of sin, the other for the freedom from sin. The "scapegoat" had to be taken away by a selected "fit man" who'd be responsible to ensure the sins of the nation be carried far away and not to come back. Annually the Lord sought a "fit man" for His work. We know this was a foreshadow of Christ. The Lord is still looking for "fit men and women" especially in the year 2020.

In our passage we see both the power of scapegoating (seen in anger) and the power of fear. Peter and Pilate show fear's power, while the Beloved Disciple and Nicodemus show the power of calmness. The Jewish leaders show how fear leads to scapegoating and to irrationality. Our call to to dealing with our fears and to inner calmness and recollection out which we can hear and obey God

There is no doubt that God is the Judge and will judge all humanity. The blessing is realizing the judge is also the justifier and has made a way for the condemned to be redeemed through an Advocate, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

It says Moses pitched the tabernacle without the camp after the judgment over worship of the golden camp. Those who wanted to meet the LORD had to do so outside the camp.

Atonement. For about the last 2 years, I have been doing a series on Elijah and Elisha; and so, have been concentrating on the Old Testament for a while now. The New Testament has been a bit neglected; so, I thought that I should atone for my sins and do a bit in the New Testament. Now, there is an interesting…
God isn’t interested in blaming or shaming to change our behaviour. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit reached out to humanity in loving sacrifice, “once for all,” so that we could be transformed by love and then extend that transforming love to one another.

The mercy seat. – Famous cover-ups: I had John do some visuals for me, I used them out at the prison, but I thought that they were too good to use just the once. [P] Every so often we see reported some great cover up. [Watergate, Bill Clinton, Pol Pot, Stalin, cultural revolution] They all have one thing…
