Gospel of Mark
Intro: Tonight as we finish the Gospel of Mark, I want us to look at what has become a controversial issue within the church, “Signs.” As Jesus commanded His disciples to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”, He said certain signs will follow those who believe. Jesus names…
Introduction John 20:30–31 (HCSB) 30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples that are not written in this book. 31 But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name. Opening Prayer These two verses…
Peter continues his first sermon after Pentecost Peter speaks directly to convince his fellow Israelites about Jesus. Peter claims that God planned with foreknowledge for Jesus to be handed over for death on the cross. They might have asked why God would allow someone like Jesus, who loved openly and…
When Jesus does anything, big or small its for one reason and one reason only - to reveal himself as God. (v.11) Theses days there’s so much talk about who Jesus is. Where he is. What’s he’s doing. Pew research what people believe about Jesus... But as Christians we’ve driven a stake in the ground and…
Preaching Through the Bible
What are we watching for? How do we Prepare? 25 “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the…
So that you may believe - Gospel of John
Proof! We all want it, proof. Show we the proof, the evidence so I can evaluate it and draw a conclusion. Our passage this morning is where from the claim offered by John the Baptist to the proof of the claim starting to be offered. Purpose of the gospel to give proof of Jesus and what belief in Him…
The Gospel of Luke
When Jesus is asked for a sign he says the only one they'll get is the "sign of Jonah". What does this teach us about signs, about seeing them, and about how to respond? Listen along and let's explore.
The Gospel of Luke
Jesus tells us he comes not to bring peace but division - division because hypocrites reject his warning about the judgement to come. And yet his warning is also filled with hope since he himself will pay the debt that we could never pay.
What does it mean to live worthy of the gospel? What does it mean to live as a colony of heaven? What does day-to-day life look like? I. A colony of heaven does not allow itself to be pulled away from the advancement of the gospel 27 Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so…
Jesus and his disciples were invited to a wedding. Jesus’ mother Mary was helping see that things were taken care of under the master of the banquet. Mary became concerned when during the multi-day event, the wine ran out. That would have been a huge embarrassment and could be seen as a possible sign…
Realizing our own limitations is an important process of self-discovering in every persons life. My youngest son just turned one, and he is still too young to understand his own limitations. Literally, he is a danger to himself. So we have to take certain precautions to make sure he avoids seriously…
Over the last few months we have been thinking through the need for every one of us to personally engage in Great Commission work. That means we have to make the main thing the main thing. We have to put the first things first in our life. We have many different kinds of commissions as disciples of Jesus,…
In a few short hours I’ll be leaving and making my way, 12 hours up north, to Ontario, CA. I’m headed up there for our annual FFM trip, we have been going now for the last several years. You might wonder why I do it. Why, Pastor, do you drive all that way, spend the money, the time, and the energy, to…

God partners with His children, with those people who actively trust Him, working in the world in various ways. We have the privilege of asking God to work for those around us and of obeying Him in being the answer to many of those prayers. Jesus is LORD over all, even the demons must obey His commands and none are able to overcome His strength. We are always in an evil generation; we frequently demand signs of Jesus, trying to force Him to prove Himself. His death, burial, and resurrection give witness to His power and truth and provide for us hope that lasts beyond our present circumstances. He isn't looking for pretenders; He wants genuine followers. Shared by Jason Stuart Percy on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Refuge TLH in Tallahassee, FL.
Four topics in Matthew chapter 12 are discussed: 1) Known By Your Fruit, 2) The Sign Of Jonah, 3) An Unclean Spirit And An Evil Generation, and 4) Earthly And Spiritual Family

That’s what our time in…
John was a sign like Jesus in that he was a sign of the kingdom but suffered like Jesus. Mary was a hidden sign, hidden from the demons, but she suffers with Jesus in the cross and had to await his return for her
