Star Power. What is it? It is that "it" factor that causes people to flock to the one who possesses Star Power. But who possessed Star Power in the Church of Corinth? Who are those possessing Star Power today, and why is it important we address it? Come with the Grace United crew as we talk about Star Power.

The husband and wife Christian music team "Out of the Grey" gave the church a challenge: walk in the bright light of God's truth. There are spiritual absolutes. But this means that Christians will, as a matter of course face opposition. Tragically, this sometimes means sons and daughters of God will retreat to "the grey". The stark reality is that the death rate is still 100%, COVID or not. What is on the other side? With topics such as this, is it not true that we all are persons of faith? What does that really mean? Come with the Grace United crew as we contemplate "the other side".

"God's fools." This is what Paul actually called himself and his fellow leaders whom God used to build the church in Corinth. What does it mean to be God's fool? As a Christian, why would one even desire to to label himself or herself in this way? It's been said, "Paul was a fool for Christ. Whose fool are you?" Come with the Grace United crew to find out how this is so.

what is 1 Corinthians all about, from a bird's eye level? In a word, "so many issues, so little time." Paul had a LOT of things he needed to inform and correct the Corinthian believers on. But he did so becaused he dearly loved them. Scripture tells us that "faithful are the wounds of a friend." The issues Paul deals with are as contemporary as tomorrow's news and as timeless as the days in the Garden of Eden. Come with the Grace United crew to be encouraged, and perhaps rebuked and corrected and challenged as we view 1 Corinthians in a Nutshell.

"Preach the Gospel." To every creature under heaven. "Make disciples. Of all nations." "This is my body. This is my blood." Fifth Sundays at Grace United is when we partake of the Lord's Table, also called "Communion." Come with Grace United as we explore again, for the first time, why the Lord left us here instead of taking us home to heaven after He salvaged those who responded to the Gospel: That our God reigns. That salvation is found only in Christ.

Summer Baggage: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Gospel

Ephesians 2:1-10 is Paul's beautiful, honest, powerful explanation of The Gospel. The Gospel is nothing less than the grace of God bringing us from death to life. The big picture theme of Ephesians is the purpose of God being revealed as uniting all things in Christ, things in Heaven and on Earth to the praise of His glory. This Gospel, gloriously presented in this section, shows how God powerfully and lovingly brings us into this purpose, being united to Christ and united to each other.

We must... 1. Let God's light shine in our hearts (vs. 16-21). 2. Put the Creator above His creation (vs. 22-25). 3. Let God's Word set our standards (vs. 25). 4. Run away from what God rejects (vs. 24-31). 5. Receive God’s grace for our guilt (vs. 32, 16-17).

Our growing in righteousness is a sign – evidence that God truly has chosen to bring righteousness and salvation to us, and this growth is made possible by the indwelling Spirit given to everyone who calls on the name of the Lord.

In our study of this passage, we look at the relationship between the doctrine of election and the individual’s will, and we see that Paul’s phrase, “submit to God’s righteousness,” means willing submission to his provision for righteousness, which is Christ.

We must be willing to witness for the Lord… 1. Because God has given us a great call (vs. 1-6). 2. Because it will bring great comfort (vs. 7-12). 3. Because there are great consequences (vs. 13-15). 4. Because we have great confidence in the gospel (vs. 16-17).

How can we strive together for Jesus? 1. We need godly desires (vs. 22-24). 2. We need godly dreams (vs. 24). 3. We need godly generosity (vs. 24-28). 4. We need the gospel (vs. 28-29). 5. We need faith in the power of prayer (vs. 30-33).

God's best for our lives includes: 1. God's grace (vs. 20, 24). 2. Godly greetings (vs. 21-23). 3. Giving glory to God (vs. 25-27).

In this 2nd of 2 parts, we take in Paul's warning against jumping to wrong conclusions about God's people Israel, and his warning to Gentiles against pride for having been grafted in to the kingdom of God.

Because: 1. He is the Christ (vs. 13-16). 2. This truth comes from God the Father (vs. 17). 3. Jesus is confident about His work (vs. 18). 4. Jesus has given us the keys to Heaven (vs. 19). 5. Jesus died on the cross for us (vs. 20-21). 6. The good news about Jesus is clear (vs. 21-23).

We can be confident... 1. In the goodness God gives (vs. 14). 2. In God's grace (vs. 15-17). 3. In the gospel (vs. 16-19). 4. In God (vs. 17-21).
