The ark of Noah. A cute Sunday School lesson for the little kids? Or is it something more? Who are the Nephilim? Was there a world-wide flood or did it cover only a portion of the earth? And what about Noah himself? The Scripture records that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. What does that mean? 1. Faith lets us walk with the Lord. 2. Faith makes it possible for us to please God. 3. Faith lets us profit from God's prophecies. 4. Faith reassures us about God's rewards.

As we wrap up the book of First John we are reminded of all the things John has said in this book. We are children of God who must guard against false teachers and false religion. We have come to know and abide in God because Christ has given us the understanding that we are sinners in need of a savior.

When we have faith... 1. We will listen to God's warnings. 2. We will trust in God's wisdom. 3. We will start working for the Lord. 4. We will help make a difference in our world. 5. We will inherit God's righteousness.

Christian fellowship is vital to our growth in Christ. We must be in fellowship with God to be in fellowship with one another. With this in mind, a question arises, does God require anything from us to be in fellowship with Him? This sermon hopes to answer that question from 1 John 1:5-10.

We should... 1. Rejoice in the mercy of our Master (vs. 1-2). 2. Recommit ourselves to righteous living (vs. 1, 3-4). 3. Treat God's Word like a treasure (vs. 3-5). 4. Walk like the Lord Jesus walked (vs. 6).

Every Christ has those times when they don't "feel" like they are walking with Christ. John tells his readers they can know they are of the truth, walking with Christ, when they love one another in true deeds. These acts of love indicate they are holding God's hand.

If we want to walk with God there are some instructions we need to follow. One of those instructions is found in First John 2:15-24, "Do not Love the World, nor the things in the World." This means not sacrficing for, not serving the things of the world but serving God.

Confidence is a tricky thing, too much or misplaced confidence can get you in a lotta trouble. Christians are called to have measured confidence based on Christ's work on the cross and our walk with Him.
