Christmas, 2019
Pastor Glenn • Grace United Family Church • Sermon • • 13 views • 47:03
When we think of Jesus what is the prominent thing that comes to mind? A helpless baby. And we as a culture have tailor-made Christmas "for the children", forgetting, or outright denying that the capstone of the Christmas story is Isaiah 9:6-7: "Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given and the government shall be on his shoulder." Come with the Grace United crew as we discover (or re-discover) the unvarnished truth of the real Christmas story--Jesus as The King.

What is the greatest gift God has given? As the old saying goes, "When in doubt say Jesus!" Of course, Jesus is the greatest gift God has given sinners. Many of us know that Jesus is the greatest gift because he died to purchase salvation for us. How can this be? Jesus was born as a human. But the Messiah was called "Mighty God, Everlasting Father." How can God die? And how can a human pay an infinite debt all sinners owe a perfect, eternal God--a God whom we all have offended. Come with the Grace United crew as we take a profound look at Immanuel as deity.

Pastor Glenn • Grace United Family Church • Sermon • • 28 views • 40:01
To God be the glory, great things He has done! What has He done in your life? With all the chaos in our world, it may seem that the Lord is absent. But that cannot be farther from the truth. Evil has run in cycles, and this is yet another one. In our onging series of "The Gospel According to Moses," Moses recounts the glorious things the Lord has done in the life of Israel, in spite of their sin and unfaithfulness. What kinds of things? Come with the Grace United crew as we marvel the great things He has done for His people. Truly, To God Be The Glory!

One thing that makes Christmas special, at least for most people, are our traditions. Most modern Christmas traditions don't come from the Bible, but rather from a mid-19th century movement in Britain exemplified, in part, by the novel "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. While this is by no means a biblical story, there are some interesting similarities, particularly with the visits of certain ministering spirits. An expository Christmas message from Luke 1:5-25. Sermon begins at about 17:00

Of all the people the "Original Ghosts" (i.e., angels) of Christmas appeared to, the shepherds are the most perplexing. What did they have to do with these events? Not much it seems, at least not directly; but indirectly, they give us some important reminders of what Christmas is all about. An expository Christmas message from Luke 2:8-20. Sermon begins at about 16:30.

This time of year we are all encouraged to get into the "Christmas spirit," but what is that exactly? Continuing our somewhat creative correlation between Dickens' novel "A Christmas Carol" and the Christmas narrative in Scripture we take notice of a second visit from a ministering spirit, the original "Ghost of Christmas Present," to find an answer. An expository Christmas message from Luke 1:26-38 & Matt. 1:18-25. Sermon begins at about 19:05.
