God's glory looks like Jesus showing up at the moment of greatest need, and doing something awesome!

David's victory over Goliath was motivated by seeking God's glory to be upheld. We too can do great things when we are used by God in a similar way. But more important is the fact that we have a greater Saviour than David, Christ Jesus saves us from our sin. Praise God for his grace and mercy to us in him. 1. Live in a pattern of discipleship. 2. Do not be afraid of an unknown process and turn towards a known negative. 3. When trouble comes after you, do not freak out, just stay calm. God still allows us to choose even if He already knows the outcome/what our choice is going to be. God chose me to choose Him. We build a continium of God taking control of our lives. We must put outselves in good and healthy environments.

Pslam 115:1, 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, Romans 8:18 Pslam 71:8 - 1. Not an easy thing to live out (our hearts and mouths are tainted by sin and Satan) - 2. Your pain has a purpose (your pain is temporary, God is sovereign and his ways are better) - 3. God is passionate about his praise and his glory (God will pursue his glory even if our own lives will be affected by it, Isaiah 42:8)

The world is emerging from a physical pandemic. However, in Moses' day, Israel was threatened with a pandemic of their own. It was not physical, but spiritual. It was deadly. Today's sermon continued with the idea that the ongoing presence of evil redounds to God's glory and our good. We better understand His sacrifice as we participate in Christ's sufferings. He uses our struggles with evil to conform us to His image. Finally, He brings glory to Himself through the Church. As we're controlled by His Spirt, bring praises to Him, and serve Him, the wisdom of God is made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. God brings all things to completion.

Why would a loving God allow evil and suffering? God uses the evil in this world because it redounds to His glory and our good. All evil or suffering we experience contributes to our future joy and God's character being formed in us. When God defeats an evil foe, such as Pharoah, His victory in conquest is for our eyes. When He executes judgment, He finds no joy in inflicting suffering, as does the evil one. Most importantly God sent Jesus who conquered evil and gave His life for ours.

Jesus is worthy of God's glory: 1. Because of His purity (vs. 1). 2. Because of His power (vs. 1-3). 3. Because of His performance (vs. 4-5).

What we can learn from Nehemiah and the returned exiles to do everything to the Glory of God.

1. We can see the riches of God's glory... [1] in His love (vs. 1-5). [2] in His knowledge (vs. 3-4; 11-14). [3] in His mission (7-15). 2. How should we respond to the riches of God's glory? [1] By believing in Jesus Christ (vs. 14-15). [2] By staying close to our Savior (vs. 16).

1. Focus on your Father. 2. Focus on your family. 3. Focus on your faith. 4. Focus on your forgiveness. 5. Focus on your future.
