Sermon on John 14. "In His Mansion"

"So many roads to follow, He said 'there's one'. So many make believers, He said, 'I've come'", so says a songwriter several years back. We really have to decide, whether to walk in the light of God's amazing grace, or to be stuck in a maze of our own doing, holding to misunderstandings and misapplications of Scripture. Misunderstandings like the "carnal Christian" teaching. In this passage, 1 Corinthians 3:5-23, Paul lays out truth but many have misunderstood and misapplied it, to their own hurt and to the hurt of many others. What are these misunderstandings and misapplications? What does it mean to live a life undistracted, uncluttered, lived only for and unto Jesus Christ? Go to the mountains of Montana and be a hermit to get away from people? What about marriage relationships or especially when a couple has become engaged to be married, how does one live an undistrated life to the Lord? If we knew the Lord was coming back tomorrow and you were engaged, would you go ahead and get married or break it off? So many questions. Such is the stuff of life as a Christian. How to live life with a single heart, though married, or tied up in an engaged relationship is what Paul deals with in this message.
