Matthews Gospel: The promised Messiah

Jesus is the promised messiah who is worthy of worship.

Matthew wrote his gospel for other Jews, about the Jew who fulfilled the Law. He presents Jesus as King.

The Old Testament is full of prophecies of the future. However, many of these prophecies are partially fulfilled in the time of the prophets wit ha deeper, grander and later fulfillment in the time of Jesus. The prophecy the Nathan made to King David in response to David's intention to make a temple for the Lord God is a great example of this, which is explored in this sermon.

Isn't David's psalm just a spiritual analogy instead of a physical reality? That is the heart of the message this Sunday morning.
