This series, Learning to Stand, is about how to be prepared and to be ready to stand against the enemy when he attacks. The enemy's goal is to stop you from doing God's work in whatever way will work. Part 1 in this series is called "Don't Lie Down" in which we learn not only how to identify Satan's attacks but also how not to quit or give up when when he does.

While not named, we find two widows and a wife come alongside Elijah and Elisha in their stories. We'll be in 1 and 2 Kings as we read how these womens faith and love for God impact both the prophets as well as the women themselves.

God desires that we continue to preach a message of compassion to those who are yet hardened to His message.

Jesus fulfilled the Torah, the law, and fulfilled and is fulfilling the prophets. Though the coming of the Messiah is the end of the law for righteousness, it is in the law that we see God, we learn His heart, we find out who He is and we are transformed as we see Him, as we see Jesus, in the writings. Jesus leaned on the scriptures, Paul leaned on the scriptures, we can to. Christian, make sure you're saved, then read your Bible. Keep reading your Bible. God will teach You His Way. Jesus believes the words of Moses and the prophets and the psalms. He believes they are God's words and that they must come to pass. Whether you believe them or not, is your problem to figure out. Jesus has been raised from the dead where He remains alive rescuing all those who lay their trust in Him. There is no other hope beyond death. No matter what happens in our lifetime or those after us or before us... if Jesus is alive and if Jesus raises the dead... we would be wise to consider what this means for us. For our children and our friends and our enemies. Church, let us believe the writings, as our King. Let us be committed to Holy living and service demonstrating the characteristics of the Kingdom that is quickly coming in fullness. Be strong, the night is far spent, the Day is at hand. Through the story of Saul's Conversion to Paul, we see how Ananias had to have faith that God would protect him when he went to Saul. Moses, had to have that same faith when God told him to pick up his staff that had been turned into a snake. Saul's faith was in Jerusalem, but when he became Paul his faith was in Heaven. It became a prophetic faith. Faith puts out the fire of unseen terror. Faith plants seeds!

The nation of Israel was tasked to conquer the pagan nations. We are also in a war, but it is a spiritual war. We need spiritual weapons to win the battle.
