Soon our good intentions turn to feelings of obligation, then lack of fulfilment sets in, which always causes problems. In Acts 16, Paul finds a young man named Timothy who had significant leadership gifts. Timothy answer God’s call to lead and became one of the youngest leader of leaders the church has ever seen.

Western culture promotes this idea that, "we're all on different roads that lead to the same place" and that, "we'll all make it in the end." This inclusivity mindset works as long as we don't go looking for absolute truth. This works as long as we ignore what the Bible offers; a very exclusive plan where Jesus is the only way into eternal life.

Disciple-making requires the multiplication of disciples.

The Apostle Paul desperately wanted to return to Philippi. Unfortunately, his imprisonment in Rome prevented him. As Paul looked around, it was an easy choice to Timothy, a man who was proven worthy for the task of Church Leadership.

This works as long as we ignore what the Bible offers; a very exclusive plan where Jesus is the only way into eternal life.

We began a series on the book of Colossians, looking at 1:1-8. The main point of this scripture was the Gospel flourishes when we faithfully pray, demonstrate love, and are transformed by God’s grace. We looked at three types of faithful believers. The first were prayer warriors who faithfully seek the Lord on others’ behalf: Paul and Timothy (v. 1-4). Second, people who faithfully follow Christ and love each other (v. 5-6). Third, a pastor who faithfully shepherds their flock: Epaphras (v 7-8).
