Zephaniah 3:14-20, The Great Day of The Lord.

Zephaniah means Jehovah has hidden.

God sent Zephaniah on the scene to speak His Word.

3:9-20: He pronounces judgment on former enemies of God; a message of the necessity of seeking the Lord; and a message of encouragement.

[3:14: Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem]. Shouting and praising. God is blessing Israel. God is not done with Israel. Zion refers to Jerusalem. God’s will will be accomplished. He will give us rest.

3:17: God is always with us. God is always present with us. God’s presence is a blessing.

3:18: Mourning the captivity.

3:19: God has a scheduled timetable. Deuteronomy 6:18-19: And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers. To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.

[3:20: At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD]. God will bring them back from exile and punish their enemies. God will restore Israel. God is bringing Israel back to their land. It started in 1948. God keeps His promises.

Zephaniah begins with a king [King Josiah] and ends with a king [King Jesus].

[Luke 21:28: And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh]. Our redemption draweth nigh.
