The news spread - such a big thing happened & it gained plenty of attention. Driving out the legion of demons in the man demonstrated the authority of Jesus & even though the people of the Gerasenes begged Jesus to leave the area, the incident with the pigs made all this very public & highlighted the fact that this Jesus is anything but an ordinary person.
