Reading:
Psalm 33:6-9 “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.”
Introduction:
On day 2 we heard about the separation of waters. It was an necessary separation for what God would do here on day 3, since Oxygen is necessary for the things that supply nutrition and nourishment. The simple explanation is that God created boundaries between land and sea then spread an oxygen producing factory.
Transition:
Each day follows the same pattern as the previous: God Speaks, It is so, and Authority and jobs are handed out. Here is the beginning of day 3:

I. God Spoke Land.

Genesis 1:9-10 “And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.”
Transition:
God continued His creating for you and I and He did it by giving:

A. The Command.

Genesis 1:9And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.”
The command is for the water to collect together forming seas and for dry land appear separated from the seas!
It may be fair to say that this command is a statement of Grace for every human.
It provides what is needed to sustain life, in more than one way!
We should praise the Lord and thank Him for commanding the seas and dry land to appear.
You may ask yourself a question about this command:
?How did the seas and land form?
God commanded it.
It might suggest that there was land under the waters which covered the Earth (waters below).
The waters couldn’t just be gathered into one place, since there was no place for them to collect.
Illustration:
My friend and I wanted to dig a fort one time. We could use it for hiding when we played paintball. We dug all day and when we figured it was deep enough we got plywood and covered the top and put shrubbery on top for proper cover and hiding.
The next day we were so excited to go and play paintball. We started the game and my buddy jumped into the hiding place, the game was over. We stopped playing because it had rained the night before.
Guess what happened. He jumped into a 3 1/2 foot pool of water.
That was our little lesson in water traveling to the lowest point and collecting together.
God’s command required low points to be created. The mountains and hills to appeared while the waters receded to fill the lower parts.
Transition:
God’s command raised the land and collected the water to the low areas, so we are focused on:

B. The Surface.

Genesis 1:9 “And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.”
It was necessary for the surface to change.
Low parts were necessary for the collection of the water and the mountains and hills were necessary for the low parts to exist. It created a boundary between land and sea, the water isn’t able to spread and cover the earth, well at least without Gods commanding!
There is also another theory that I have dealing with the tectonic plates.
Tectonic plates are real and visible. I believe that the plates separated making a location and a way for water to drain to a location under the crust of the earth; which may validate Genesis 7:11 possible. “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.”
The waters of the flood fell from Heaven and also came from under the earth.
The tectonic plates move all the time and make our cities closely located to the fissures volatile and dangerous.
Volcanoes
Earth Quakes
Also an opportunity for them to separate and release boiling hot water, rocks, lava shooting into the air, as high as a volcano would.
The flood changed the surface of earth from what God commanded the earth to be shaped like.
Because of our sin God changed His creation from what He created good and perfect.
Transition:
The surface was arranged according to the Lords wisdom and created for humans to command authority and possess the dominion as God’s will to be done.
After He re-arranged all the Earth (the first time) we hear of:

C. God’s Approval.

Genesis 1:10 “God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
God handed out the official boundaries for the world to appreciate and enjoy.
It is sustained by Him and maintained by Him.
My Opinion: That is a good reason that we as humans cannot ruin the planet or save it.
This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take seriously our command to take dominion of the earth and subdue it, which also is providing the expectation for us to be good stewards of all God has given us charge over.
He ascribed labels
Seas (Multiple, not one; but many.)
bodies of water: Oceans, Lakes, Rivers, and seas.
Land: Earth - Soil, Ground, etc...
Land: Cliffs, Mountains, Hills, Plains.
Transition:
God in His wisdom ascribed authority by providing labels and boundaries for land and sea. How?
He spoke it into existence by giving a command.
Humans need sustenance and a way to gain nutrition. Putting into play the digestive systems that God created humans with; to absorb vitamins for proper nutrition.
Now that borders were established between land and sea:

II. God Spoke Vegetation.

Genesis 1:11 “And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so.”
Transition:
My family and I have greatly appreciated the vegetables this past summer. We have enjoyed the fruits of others labor; but it wouldn’t be possible without:

A. Vegetation.

We can all understand the importance of vegetation; but what are the benefits that we actually understand. I say it that way because I bet there are more benefits that we gain which God has not revealed to humanity.
Benefits:
Plants produce Oxygen.
needed for life!
Plants are used for industry.
Cosmetic beauty, makeup.
Medicine.
Illustration:
Explain the white oak tree to used for Tylenol.
Also the cabbage palm festival.
Food.
Vegetables/Fruit
Habitat, clothing,etc...
?What would be the reason God would fill the land with vegetation?
It is all for us, there would be no purpose for vegetation aside from our necessities.
Transition:
Since God is very specific: What type of vegetation is very beneficial?
God made specific:

B. Plants.

- Top 5 oxygen producing plants:
Peace Lily
Aloe Vera
Mother-in-Law’s Tongue
Areca Palm
Gerbera Daisy
Top 5 nutritious plants:
Broccoli - Vitamins, including a variety of B’s as well as calcium and fiber.
Spinach - Spinach is very high in iron.
Kale - It is high in iron, which can help stave off anemia.
(considered a superfood).
Beets - You can eat the beets as well as the greens on top. Beets are rich in vitamin C, iron and potassium. The leafy greens, which are great in a salad, are high in calcium and magnesium.
(Muscle and bone health)
Sweet Potatoes - Rich in vitamin A and manganese.
Transition:
God tells us later that all vegetation is for us but also each tree bearing fruit.
We were given all plants but also all the:

C. Trees.

There are a lot of different types of self pollinating trees on earth.
All of which were created for us.
Apples,
Apricots,
Peaches,
Pears,
Plums,
Cherries...
They all provide nutrition and all things essential for sustaining Life.
Transition:
It is exactly what God said it should be in
Genesis 1: 29 “And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.
We were given plants and fruits from trees as a gift from God Himself!

III. It Was Good.

Genesis 1:12-13 “The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.”
Transition:
God is perfect with every decision and in all He does. There is something that takes place throughout the fruit bearing process of all vegetation. It isn’t just the nutritional value; but the:

A. Plants are Beautiful.

Illustration:
Did you know that most of Florida oranges aren’t good looking enough for sale in stores?
Most of Florida Oranges are best used in Juices.
When I first moved to South West Florida I thought I would see Orange groves everywhere. It’s on the license plate they must be everywhere!
Until you get away from coast you wouldn’t see most of the groves. Apparently they want tourists out at the coasts.
But that moment you find the orange groves it is crazy.
Especially when the Orange blossom is in bloom; wow what a sight and the fragrance in the air is amazing.
We have whole sections of life made from the studying of Flowers, Fragrances, Teas, Etc...
The Hibiscus plant is a flower Florida is known for.
Kind of like the Birds of Paradise being the Hawaiian flower.
Transition:
God provided the beauty of flowers for us. People enjoy it so much that they turned the beauty of flowers into life goals and careers.
Flowers from plants aren’t the only beautiful things, we also know that:

B. Trees are Beautiful.

We have something that is specific to the mid-west or the northern hemisphere:
The beauty of the Fall season.
Illustration:
The fall season is definitely a time through the year where using gas to drive around enjoying the beauty of the fall colors and it is entirely worth it.
Every part of our globe possesses trees that have unique beauty.
A Redwood
A Willow
Sandbox Tree
Banyan Tree
Transition:
God’s creation isn’t just necessary, it is beautiful.
No it wasn’t just beautiful and necessary:

C. It Was Good!

Genesis 1:12 “The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”
God’s speaks His approval to all He created.
When He says it is good it must be perfect or the Creator wouldn’t have said, and recorded it.
- When God approves of something it is perfect, it’s exact, and final!
- God teaches us in Luke:
Luke 19:17 “And He said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’”
Transition:
When we respond to the Lord’s call and have faith and trust that Jesus is the Lord, He accepts our faith and responds with approval.
Salvation was His extending a relationship to us and trusting Him and having faith to believe is us accepting that invitation.
- That is the moment we enter an unbreakable relationship with the all powerful creator.
The new life begins!

Conclusion:

Genesis 1:13 “And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.”
God’s handiwork can be viewed each and everyday. Whether it is by seeing a flower, or breathing oxygen.
We can trust that God Spoke it into existence:
The Land.
The Seas.
And then He proclaimed that:
It was Good.
Knowing this truth isn’t the best part. Realizing that He created it all for you and I should amaze us. Our only response should be praising Him with thankfulness.
For those who don’t have that relationship: It should scare you!
? Why? Because God created it all for you to have life and His creation shouts praise of Him, and you willingly ignore it!
- Humble yourself before Him, accept His extended relationship (acknowledge your sins are against Him and ask for forgiveness) believe/trust Jesus is God.
John 3:15 “that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life.”
Believe and live!
Pray!
Dismissal:
- The 3rd day: God filled the Globe with necessity and beauty for you and I!
