Proverbs 29:18 KJV 1900
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
The vision of Vulcan Assembly of God is: “To be a Going, Giving, and Growing Church.”
The writer of the proverb we read explains the importance of vision. Without a clear vision we will perish. A vision helps keep us focused on why God has us here and what He wants us to do. It gives us a goal of what we believe God wants us to do.
The first part of our vision is to go.
Matthew 28:19 NKJV
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mark 16:15 NKJV
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
When we hear the word go, we might also think to move or proceed from a place. Jesus looked at His disciples and commissioned them to go reach the world.
Our assignment as a local church is to go and reach people for the Lord. To partner alongside of them and help them become the people God wants them to become.
We are here today become someone took Jesus’s instructions to go seriously. God now wants us to go and reach others.
Why does Jesus want us to go reach the lost?
Who helped us find Jesus as our Savior?
What happens if we do not go and reach the lost?
Going includes more than telling people about the Lord. As we go, we also model how the life transformed by Jesus looks.
Let’s pray and ask the Lord to give us a burden to go and reach people. And as we go, let’s believe God will help us be a good witness for Him.
