Ruth 3. A small act of obedient faith brings a whole new day.
In the previous chapter, the initiative comes from Ruth (2:2).
Now it is Naomi who takes the initiative and speaks to Ruth and tells her what to do.
Ruth 1:19-22.
Het laatste getuigenis is “Haar bitterheid” God krijgt de schuld.
Naomi has changed so much and she no longer thinks about herself, but about Ruth.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer always included Jesus: “The man for others” (Phil.
2:3,4).
Zij waren zelf op reis gegaan.
Zij was al tien jaar lang uit het land geweest.
De vrouwen van Bethlehem kregen een schok toen zij haar zagen (19).
Is dit Naomi?
riepen de vrouwen uit.
Zij was niet de Naomi, die ze van vroeger kenden.
De problemen hadden haar niet beter maar wel bitter gemaakt.
Zij getuigt ervan en zegt: noem mij maar: Mara (Bitter).
Wij hebben ook niet altijd controle over onze omstandigheden, maar wij hebben wel controle over onze reacties en wij worden op geroepen om in alle omstandigheden toch te blijven danken!
Het grootste probleem van ons ongeluk , is het gevolg van egoïstisch denken.
When the widows arrived in Bethlehem, Ruth saw it as her job to take care of Naomi.
She did not think like Orpah of a man of children.
Naomi also cares and comes up with a plan to prepare for a wedding.
Naomi was nog een vrouw met lege handen, een leeg huis en een leeg hart.
Footnote: Keep in mind the booklet Ruth is more than a marriage between a widow and a rejected foreigner who marries a wealthy Jew.
It is a shadow image of the Lord Jesus with all who trust Him and believe in Him.
The steps Ruth takes are the steps we must take to come to a deeper relationship with Jesus.(
heavenly groom).
Like Ruth, we are not to be content with the remnant or receiving gifts.
We must want Him for ourselves.
It is not the gifts we seek, but the Giver!
Nor is it enough for us to know the Lord's servants to learn lessons from God's Word from them.
Everyone must have a personal relation with the Lord Jesus!
Then He Himself will also be able to speak to our hearts.
One of the wonderful fruits of the rich life from the New Covenant is just that: Heb.8:11.
Naomi noemt God: De Almachtige (El Shaddai).
Surely they will not teach every man his neighbor and every man his brother, and say, Know the Lord God.
For they shall all know me, from least to greatest of them.
Onze problemen kunnen machtig zijn, maar God is Almachtig.
Was Naomi echt zo slecht af? Zij had haar leven en Bethlehem nog om naar terug te gaan.
Het Christen leven is een serie van nieuwe starten.
Zij had in Bethlehem nieuwe mogelijkheden.
Ze was omringd door haar volk.
En dan te bedenken dat zij Ruth aan haar zijde had, die getuigd had van haar volkomen overgave aan Naomi.
Bovenal had zij de Almachtige God van Israël.

It was exactly what Naomi did!
Zij was weer teruggekeerd onder de vleugels van die levende God van Israël.
3:1.
For her part, she has the peace and the best in mind for her daughter-in-law.
Where else could that be found but at the feet of Boaz, who is an image of a Greater than he.
How many people have already gone to the Lord Jesus weary and burdened, and have found there rest for their souls with Him (Matt.11:28).
3:1-5.
Naomi knows the customs and she knew that Boaz would sleep by the threshing floor.
De naam van de Heere God wordt maar liefs 25 keer genoemd.
Romein.
8:31.
She gives many instructions to Ruth on how to approach Boaz personally.
Als God voor ons is, wie zal tegen ons zijn?
Tel je zegeningen nu één voor één en je ziet Gods liefde dan door alles heen.
Het hoofdstuk eindigt gelukkig met een positief bericht.
Na de lange hongersnood is er gelukkig weer een oogst.

3a.
Ruth had to wash first.
The law of Moses requires ceremonial washings.
Actually, Naomi was saying that Ruth had to prepare herself as a bride for her marriage (Ezek.16:9-12).
If the priest in the Old Testament had not washed, he was in danger of dying (Ex.
30:17-21).
The Jewish people were aware of God's holiness when they came into His presence (Ps.
15; 24:1-6).
Let us imitate this in our lives and keep our own street clean (2 Cor.6:14-7:1).
Ruth 2. Boaz wordt verrast door de LIEFDE en Ruth door Gods rijke genade.
The cleansing water speaks in the Bible above all of God's Word (Eph.5:26)
Niet de bitterheid van Naomi verandert de situatie, maar het geloof van Ruth.
Haar geschiedenis begint met een begrafenis, maar eindigt met een bruiloft.

Ruth had to anoint herself with oil.
The smell of Ruth had to be attractive (Song of Songs 1:3,12-14;4:11-16).
The anointing with oil speaks of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
All born again believers have received that anointing (1 John 2:20,27).
2:1-2.
Zoals in een film krijg je nu een blik in de toekomst en daarna gaan ze terug in het verhaal.
Boaz is een vreemde voor Ruth.
Hij wordt al genoemd.
2:3.
Ruth besteedde haar tijd nuttig en zij bestudeert Gods Woord.
Zij komt erachter dat er rechten voor de weduwen en de armen zijn (Deut.
24:19-22).
Therefore we should everywhere be a fragrance of the Lord Jesus (2 Cor.2:15).
When Jesus walked the earth, He did His work through the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:16-19).
If Jesus who was without sin needed the power of the Holy Spirit, how much more do we!
We all received the Holy Spirit when we believed and He also wants to help us.
(Rom 8 26)
De oogst is van de Heere God, dus heeft Hij het recht om de regels te maken!
That anointing with oil speaks of being filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph.5:18).

3c.
Ruth had to change her clothes.

De maaiers mochten de randen van het veld niet maaien.
Zo werd er voorzien in het voedsel voor de armen, de vreemdelingen en de weduwen.
Als er iets viel mochten ze het niet oprapen, want dat was ook voor de armen en de weduwen.
Die wetten zijn het bewijs dat de Heere God om de weduwen geeft Ex. 23:3; Lev.19:15.
De Heere God geeft hen het gebod om niet hebberig te zijn en voor elkaar te zorgen (Ex.
22:22-24).
Ruth was een weduwe en een vreemdelinge.
Zij spreekt met vastberadenheid tegen Naomi: Laat mij gaan!
She was to take off the clothes of a grieving widow and put on her beautiful dress (Isa.
61:1-3).
The clothing also has a spiritual meaning.
Our first parents covered themselves with the leaves.
