Intro
Intro
I’m pretty sure we did this lesson already but it was months ago so we will do it again
define faith
faith is important because of what we finished with last time
story from the asylum
Abel
Abel
one of the first characters mentioned
one who never speaks a word
the younger one with a harder job and without the favoritism from his parents looks only to God and gives his all to him
though he was killed by his jealous brother he has something to teach us
though he never spoke a word in his story he has volumes to say about the importance of relying on God and not ourselves
Enoch
Enoch
the man who walked with God
a million old preacher man stories all along the lines of my place is closer than yours
what was the world like that Enoch lived in?
what did he do about it?
Noah
Noah
the one who condemned the world
sounds pretty harsh
does that mean that Noah judged them all and didn’t offer them a ride on his boat?
Noah believed what God said to be truth despite how it sounded at the time
Noah was not motivated by the world, he condemned such things within himself
Abraham
Abraham
Abraham obeyed without a challenge to leave his whole world behind
he was looking forward and not behind
Sarah as well had faith even if only reluctantly that she could miraculously give birth
even when they doubted it was rooted in their inability and not God’s
Application
Application
they all died in faith
they all looked forward to something better
they all chose to be strange for the sake of that faith
faith is something that has a noticeable effect on your life
its something that can be seen even in the silent
its something that is shown by your actions
its something that guides your whole life til the very end
