what does it take

We are all prodigal whether we like it or not. We've all received an inheritance of freedom. The gift of freedom is the invaluable free gift that God provides through the blood of Jesus that whether you call Him Lord or not is still yours. Allow me to prove with our final authority I've set before you life and death so choose life The prodigal chose what to do with his freedom it wasn't until he hit rock bottom. This parable presents two questions to you today church what are you doing with your freedom. Are you choosing life or are you day in and day out choosing death? And second question what is it going to take to make the right choice? Jesus gave this parable 2000 years ago to the people of that day and to us tonight in ultimate hope that we don't need to be at wits end. Jesus' will isn't that your life spirals into chaos for you to finally come to your senses and seek the prince of peace. He gave us this parable in hopes that we don't follow this young man's bad example but we come to God now. I've heard it said that you don't need another church service, you don't need another worship session you need an encounter with Jesus. You need an encounter with Jesus. In Luke 23 we read of 2 criminals that were crucified with Jesus one mocks him and the other glorifies His sacrifice and says please remember me when you get to your heavenly kingdom! To that one Jesus says truly I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. I invite you up for this last song to encounter Jesus before your life gets chaotic. Before food that was never meant for you looks appetizing before you are in your place of passing away like the criminal on the cross. ?
The resurrection of Lazarus was late to some. The Isrealites were not able to go the promised land. Our idea of timing is skued off by our own biases. Jesus called it good that He waits to raise Lazarus so more glory can be shown. Where we see death Jesus sees opportunity
