What kind of Rwanda, what kind of church, will you give to your children and grandchildren?

What will be around?
Numbers 14:31 ESV
But your little ones, who you said would become a prey, I will bring in, and they shall know the land that you have rejected.
Also said in Deut 1:39. “who you said would be come a prey”. When was that?
Earlier in the same chapter. Num 14:3
Numbers 14:3 ESV
Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?”
This is the spy story!

What we do with our kids shows whether or not we have hope for the future that goes beyond our lives

Israel was facing entering the land
There were old mindsets - so are there in Rwanda “I am Tutsi / Hutu”. The old wounds are still there.
But, a promise had been given them, of a better life
They could not believe it, because of the old wounds, the old mindsets
They were tempted to actually go back to Egypt, to the old way of doing things
Their vision for the future was shown in what they said of their children. “They will become prey”. They had no faith that the future could be better for their children, so they did not enter the land that God had given them.
The reason you must enter into the land yourself is for your children. And, it is because you believe God for a better future FOR THEM that you press in today for yourself.

The land God has promised us

What that looks like

Step one - recognizing that the children are the future (Mark / Deut)
Step two - discipling them, protecting them, educating them, giving them hope
