Acts 18:1–3 (KJV 1900)
1 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
A pattern family
1. They were together
5 times they are mentioned - together
They were close
Never grow apart in your in your marriage
Never grow apart from the Lord
Once you begin to grow apart it is very difficult to grow closer together

Spiritual Vision
Working together is a blessing that brings a spiritual bond that is so important.
Invest in others by being together
If you are not married fall in love with the Lord and the people of the Lord
Married individuals should ask God to give a greater love for their spouse.
2. Known as Christians
Do others know you are a christian

Where you frequent
Do people know you love God’s word

3. Worked together
3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
Paul was strengthened by a married couple working together and cooperating
4. Their home was a place of Renewal for The Man of God
Hospitality is cheerfully sharing food, shelter, and refreshment with those whom God brings into my life.
A place of comfort
A place of hospitality
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
A place of kindness
A hospital
9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.
10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
11 And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.
What is this about, caring and not being self consumed
1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
When we serve those who are week or in need there is a correlation to serving Jesus himself.
5. They had a heart for missions
Acts 18:18 (KJV 1900)
18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila;...
They physically aided a missionary
6. They loved God’s Servants
24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
There were some things Apollos didn’t know
This was done in humility
7. They understood the importance of discipleship
27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
Everyone of us have someone that hasn’t grown in the Lord as much as we have and we can help them along

8. They sacrificially gave for the ministry
Romans 16:3–6 (KJV 1900)
3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:
4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.
9. They sacrificially served their church
Rom 16:
5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.
6 Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us.
This is our heritage
10. Paul honored them in his last letter
Embrace them for me
19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
Aquila means eagle
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Ladies
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
