John 15:1–14 (NASB95)
1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
3 “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6 “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
8 “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
9 “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
11 “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
14 “You are My friends if you do what I command you.

The Vinedresser

John 15:1–2 NASB95
1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
Jesus says (Ego Emmi), I AM, I AM the true Vine and the Father is the dresser
grapes grow on a vine.
Jesus us the true vine, the main vine.
and God the Father is the vine dresser/gardener
God is the keeper of the the vine, for fruit.
Jesus is the true vine, the source. the source of life and the Father is the keeper.
John 15:3 NASB95
3 “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Jesus tell his disciples that they are OK, clean, pruned because of His word.
In being a follower of Christ, With Jesus being your Lord and savior, you are right with The Father .
John 15:4–5 NASB95
4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
Abide means “to stay”, Jesus says you stay in me, and I stay in you.
we are the branches, and we can not bear fruit unless we stay with Christ.
Being in Christ. YOU WILL BEAR fruit!!!
bearing fruit only happens when you abide in Him and Him in you.
John 15:6 NASB95
6 “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
Jesus makes it clear.
If you don’t abide in Christ, the Father will remove you and will be throw in the fire.
Jesus speaks, those who don’t abide/stay with Him, will go to hell.
John 15:7–8 NASB95
7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
for things does not mean that you can ask whatever you want.
It is not about your own selfish needs.
If you stay with Jesus, and you stay with HIs Word, You will be in the will of God and your desires will become His desires.
We do not serve God who is a gene.
God is not someone that is here to give you whatever you want.
John 15:9–10 NASB95
9 “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
Jesus says that just as the Father has loved (agapo, to have affection for, cherish) Him He has loved (agapo, to have affection for, cherish) us also.T he same love that is within the Godhead, Jesus gives us the same love.
Jesus says to stay in His love.
to remain in Jesus’ love (agapē, meaning a kiss of peace, devotedness; love-feasts)
If you remain in Him, you will remain in Him.
If we keep Him commandments
John 15:11 NASB95

The love we have in Christ, leads to a relationship that is filled with joy.

Jesus says that those who are in Him. ,stays with Him, will have a full joy in the relationship with Him

12 This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you.
Love, with that same love that The Father has for the Son, the same Love that Jesus has for you, you must love one another.
John 15:13 AMP
13 No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.
Jesus shows his love
Jesus says that we are His friends and the love that Jesus shows is His willingness to die for the ones He loves.
He gave His life for us, Should be do that same for Him?
John 15:14 NASB95
14 “You are My friends if you do what I command you.
John 15:14 AMP
14 You are My friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do.
Abraham was a friend of God.
So was Moses.
James 2:23 NASB95
23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.
Exodus 33:11 NASB95
11 Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.
