Faithfulness is the concept of unfailingly remaining loyal to someone or something, and putting that loyalty into consistent practice regardless of extenuating circumstances.

Can I be honest? Sometimes difficult to put all of my Trust in God, ALL of the time.
We want to, but we play the “What if” Game. What IF, Took wrong job? left wrong job? started a biz? shouldn’t have? wrong leader? what if, I expose myself and get hurt?
God, what if you don’t come through. What about when I asked, and you didn’t answer that prayer? It’s difficult.
Title: Let’s get faithful.
My Hope: You will walk away with a definition of faith, and a couple of prayers, to start you on your journey
**Prayer**

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,
One thing we have been called to be, is FAITHFUL. My hope is that world would look on and see you do some crazy things, and they ask how ,and you say “I AM FAITHFUL” - Somene SAY.
Open our heart, I want to give you a definition of FAITH.
Everyone loves Hebrews 11:1, and we gonna get there. Start just before;
Must understand, Hebrews on the verge of Quitting.
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
Writer urging to endure | little while, reference to Isreal being delivered | and they were delivered | and to show that JESUS will come back | God’s promises is true | It is saying that we are to trust the integrity of God.
Live by faith = What ever faith is, it’s a lifestyle, not a one off event. First point;
Faith is not a temporary vacation, Faith is a permanent destination.
Something happens, need a vacation, oh, I need some faith. not one off though, need it all the time.
Raises question…What is faith, and how does it work?
Lets see.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
“Yes Pastor, we know, faith you can’t see it, gotta have it”
let’s break it down - Hope, is an expectation of the future you have a conviction about. Faith then, must have substance - It has to be anchored to something. A hope, or expectation in a substance.

If you have faith in something, but that something is not very strong, doesn’t matter how much faith you have = Chances low.
Faith is not tied to how much FAITH you have, it’s how strong the SUBSTANCE is. Little faith in significant substance will bring REAL results - BIG FAITH, crappy substance, little results | Results of Faith has to do with the substance in which it is attached.
Our Substance is GOD. but you have to know GOD, to have FAITH IN HIM. The more you KNOW HIM, the MORE YOU TRUST HIM.
Definition of Faith;
Intellectual agreement + Trust = Faith
Chair Analogy = Single Strong Chair - What we can SEE, what we TRUST, We all intelectually agree, this is a chair, constructed as a chair, built to hold someone up. Josh “What are these?” “Which one of these chairs do you trust?” “Why?” - It’s best bet, it’s a better chair. What if I told you, both could hold weight | See he agrees that they are both chairs, but only TRUSTS one of them. Too many of us, AGREE that JESUS IS LORD, but don’t TRUST FOR HIS MIRACLES | What if, little chair is God’s Will for your life? | 2nd little chair, Someone else sit in it, it’s God’s will for their life, we see them take a step of faith, so we try and copy | Angry at God, because it worked for them, and not me, but He has DIFFERENT blessings for you. So we sit here (ladder) up top, looking down on everyone, we think it;s safer. Smaller chair, hve to trust manufacturer.
What would it look like if an entire church, sat in their chairs? Too many chairs empty, C’mon GOD IS CALLING US TO HAVE SOME FAITH.
Faith = Intellectual agreement + Trust.
What I want to do, is give 2 prayers, so that we can start LIVING BY FAITH, because we are FAITH FILLED. So we can fill that 2nd peice - TRUST - Then we go home. Cool?
We going to learn to have FAITHFULLNESS< not just have FAITH.

How many of you know, when God asks, makes no sense? Sometimes God asks you to put trust in him, so hard, or silly?
Don’t worry about tomorrow - Well someone has to
Bless those that persecute you - easy for you
Don’t lean on your own understanding - How else will these bills get paid
You want to trust God, want to have faithfulness, but hard.
First prayer
Lord Help me to OBEY you, even when I don’t understand.
God asked Peter to go out deep = Caught nothing in Shallow = Most of us stay in Shallow, or come back to the Shore if we catch nothing. Well I had faith, I took a little step, and nothing, going back to my understanding. TAKE ANOTHER STEP.
We see this played out with Peter;
And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”
BECAUSE YOU SAY SO. LET DOWN YOUR NETS!!!
You don’t need to understand completely, to obey immediately.
When we think of trusting God, we think of Big things | Starts with the SMALLEST things.
My encouragement - GET CLINGY | Not while Dating | But with GOD.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Acknowlede = Know - KNow on mountaints, know on Valleys.

How do you know, trust, walk in him = Get close to him, cling to him - only way.
Cling to God = Must let go of what ever you are clinging to = THAT IS HARD.
2nd Prayer = Help me to surrender what I can not control.
And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.

Peter said “Depart from me, I am a sinner” - Jesus was not done ,we know the story.
and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.
Nets to Peter = Provision, Security, Future, Title
First you Let them down...
but then you…Lay them down.
Let go of what you think you know, and cling. To, God.
Faith is not tied to how much of it you have, it’s tied to the substance and how close you get, our substance is GOD - Its how well you know GOD. You can have more of it, if you know more of who GOD IS.
Faith is acting like something is so even when it is not so in order that it might be so simply because God said so.
Let go of what you think you know, and cling to God.
We have gone through some difficult family situations, one day, with permission, I hope to share, and while it is difficult, we have to lay it down, we are not shaken, because of the substance. Is it easy? No - Do we feel close to God, you bet.
What are you clinging to, that God is asking to Lay it down and keep trusting?
outcomes? Identities? Jobs? Careers? Relationships?
You don’t always have the power to control, but you have the power to surrender.

Last few verses he says; fig tree not blossoming, no fruit on the vines, fields no food, no flocks of animals, AND YET;
Habakkuk 3:18–19 (ESV)
yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.
Faith is acting like God is telling the truth - Let’s live by Faith.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Some trust in economy | Government | Bank acct | Medical reports
But we trust in a loving God who is in TOTAL CONTROL. We trust ONE DAY, the trumpets will sound, Jesus will come down, and our God wil right every wrong.
Wipe out all evil, Sin and sickness off the face of the earth. Restore the whole Earth to Peace, Harmony, Security, Joy. No more cryin, no more pain, no more heartache.
We will worship FOREVER, the K of K and L of L for all our days.
What is faith = Intelectually agree + Trust
2 Prayers to build our trust;
Lord Help me to OBEY you, even when I don’t understand.
2nd Prayer = Help me to surrender what I can not control.

When did the miracle of the fish happen? | End of dissapointing day | Everyone else packing up | Simon didn’t give up | Maybe you are at a place about to throw somethin away
You’ve been praying and believing, but fel like giving up.
At the end of the day when they’d almost given up, that’s when the miracle happen.
I came to tell someone, it;s not over. Today is the day you move from intelectually knowing, to trusting.
Today is the day, faith is not a vacation, it’s a perminant destination, you will LIVE BY FAITH and we will have…faithfullness.
