Thoughts

People with a heart to do find a way to do, others an excuse not to
The world will always give you opportunity to quit but only the world calls that opportunity.

Intro -

As a young disciple, I prayed God change my circumstances. He said I'm going to change you so you can change the circumstances.
We live in a fallen world
We have an enemy, it's my flesh.
2 Corinthians 4:1 (ESV)
Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.
2 Corinthians 4:15–18 (ESV)
For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Don’t Lose Heart

David was chosen because of his heart. 1 Sam 16:7
When God measures men, he doesn’t look at the outward appearance but the heart.
Attitude altered Davids ability.

It is all for your sake

Don’t Lose Heart

Keep your heart with all diligence
Keep it from being hardened.
Discouraged and Disappointed
Don’t let fatigue, pain, or criticism force you off the job.
Renew your commitment.
Receive your strength and avoid distraction focused on the Lord.
Psalm 51:10 (ESV): 10  Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.

Light and momentary affliction

Paul’s list of afflictions -2 Corinthians 11:
Reviled for preaching and practicing the Gospel
Labored often
Countlessly beaten almost to death
Scourged five times
3 times beaten with rods
Stoned
Shipwrecked three times, adrift in sea a night and day
Frequently traveling
Constantly in danger, robbers, rivers, his own people, city, wilderness, sea, and false brothers
Toil and hardship night and day, sleepless nights, in cold, hunger and thirst, and exposure.
Daily pressure on me of the anxiety for all the churches.

Preparing for us

Jeremiah 12:5 ““If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses? And if in a safe land you are so trusting, what will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?”

Weight of Glory -

Eternal - without end or beginning
Beyond all comparison - better or greater than any other; without equal

Look at Eternal Things

Few things are impossible for the believer with diligence and focus.
It’s gonna be worth it all
