The Unmoved Mover

Numbers 13:26–33 KJV 1900

And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Many have attempted over the years to give alternative explainations to the power and majesty of God!

Rather than expressing a simple faith that there is a God that can has, can and will do absolutely anything…

They seek to find answers outside the Word of God.

Really? A God so powerful that he spoke the worlds into existence?

So incredible he set the stars in place and named them all?

So smart that he would shape the complexity of humanity with all it’s intricate function, from the dust of the earth?

AND THEN BREATH THE BREATH OF LIFE INTO HIM?

In the late 1830’s a man by the name of Charles Darwin began to study animals and plant life and came up with what is widely known as the theory of evolution.

You know it, many were taught it in school as fact rather than theory…

Evolution poses the idea that organisms change minutely from one generation to the next, evolving into something completely different over hundreds and thousands and even millions of years.

Evolutionist believes that humans not just evolved from apes but ultimately came from fish - nationalgeographic.org.

In 1927, the Belgian Catholic priest Georges Lemaitre took ideas that were most of a 1000 years old and began to teach what is known today as the Big Bang Theory.

It suggests that there was nothing and in one instant there was everything!

In one hot, explosive moment, from nothing galaxies, planets and stars were hurdled into into existance, found their orbits and have hung there now for millions of years…

But there is one great big problem with both these theories…

Another theorist who is widelay quoted and more famous most of them by the name of Aristotle, a Greek who was born in 384 BC, posited the idea of the “unmoved mover”.

Unmoved Mover: that which moves without being moved

Before the first movement, the first burst of light - there was one who started it all!

Trace all your thearies back to the beginning, from humans to apes to fish…

Walk the expanse of space and time to the ever shrinking moment when it all began…

Trace it all back; every star, every universe, every galaxy…

Walk back in time along the Milky Way to where everything that is, has shrunk to the exact moment of revelation…

That first explosion of brilliance!

The moment that everything that is appeared for the first time!

And pause the movie, wait for just a second… hit play again.

The colors fade from view…

Instantly the screen of your imagination goes black!

There is nothing there, there is nothing anywhere!

And there, before anything that is, was - is the Unmoved Mover!

That which moves without being moved!

The problem with men is we have always looked for answers to questions that never should have been asked!

We know who the Unmoved Mover is!

Our faith in God and His Word is such that when we read, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, we know that to be true!

And the more that science discovers about the world we live in, the less we question and more it solidifies the fact that OUR GOD IS AMAZING!

He has, can and continues to do everything and anything!

Our problem is not believing the seemingly outrageous stories of the Bible…

It is believing that a God so powerful would he really care enough about me and my situations to help me!

It is believing that God really cares so much about my little city that he wants to send revival to our little church!

It is believing the imposible for ourselves!

All of a sudden, a man appeared and called her blessed!

You are the chosen one - the messiah is coming through you!

How can this be? It is impossible!

The Holy Ghost will perform it!
