looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
I STAND AMAZED IN THE PRESENCE
I STAND AMAZED IN THE PRESENCE
With a name like Gabriel, we’d expect some music-and that’s exactly what we got. Even as a child, Charles H. Gabriel was drawn to music. He taught himself to play the organ as a boy, and he began leading singing schools as a teenager. As an adult, he led music wrote music, sang music, and published music- lots of it. When he died in Los Angeles in September 1932, he left behind thirty-five books of gospel songs, eight Sunday school songbooks, seven songbooks for men, six for women, and ten for children, nineteen collections of anthems, and twenty three cantatas. It’s no wonder I grew up in a church that sang Gabriels songs nearly every Sunday. This was one of our favorites.
I stand amazed in the presence of jesus the Nazarene, and wonder how He could love me, a sinner condemned unclean.
O how marvelous! O how wonderful! And my song shall ever be: O how marvelous! O how wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me.
When with the ransom in glory, His face I at least shall see. ‘Twill be my theme through the ages to sing of His love for me.
O how marvelous! O how wonderful! And my song shall ever be: O how marvelous! O how wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
