What are some ways that we can be kind to people?

Kindness is so important.

To be a servant of God’s we have to be kind.

Jesus was kind in a special way.

Matthew 6:1–4 ESV

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Jesus said in verse 1

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them”

So have any of you ever done something good hoping that someone would notice?

Maybe you did a chore at home and hoped that your parents would notice?

Now God has asked us to do good but he asked us to keep it between ourselves.

This means we don’t brag about the good we do.

In fact the scripture said “do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing”

Does anyone know what that means?

This is simple enough.

We don’t dwell on our good actions or tell others about them in a baggy manner.

So let me try to show you.

That would be bragging about my kindness

Or if I were to give you something and think to myself “God I did such a good job today, look at me”

Or “I am so good, look what I did”

We are to do good actions as God commanded us and then continue on.

We aren’t looking for reward.

We aren’t looking for words of thanks.

We are doing good because God has commanded us.

Now lastly Jesus tells us that we will be rewarded by our heavenly;y father.

This means that we aren’t looking for affirmation by anyone on earth.

We are going to be affirmed by God

He will tell us.

now does anyone know how it was that jesus displayed charity in his life?

Here is how Jesus displayed kindness.

Matthew 4:23 ESV

And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.

First he did the kindest thing ever by telling people how to get to heaven.

He also healed the sick.

He went all over showing people love and kindness.
