What do you have to offer?
What do you have to offer?
41 He sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the crowd putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. 42 A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny. 43 Then he called his disciples and said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. 44 For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”
The Wesleyan Bible Commentary, Volume 4: Matthew–Acts b. Commendation of Widow (12:41–44)
Giving is not measured by the amount given, but by what is left over. It is the spirit of devotion and sacrifice which pleases God, and only He can judge fully as to that. It is the gift of love which brings joy to the heart of the heavenly Father. Cold, careless giving is never rewarded, no matter how much the amount of the gift.

Jesus is in Jerusalem, in the temple, in the Court of Women.
In the Court of Women were 13 brass vessels shaped like trumpets for people to put their offerings in.
42 A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny.
—> The widow puts in 2 mites or lepta - these were the smallest coins in use
—> There worth was a 1/4 of a cent each to put this in perspective this would have been 1/64 of what a day laborer would earn in a single day
43 Then he called his disciples and said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury.
44 For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”
