Good Evening, I trust everone is well.
I have had so much fun teaching and preaching in the last many months.
I love seeing what all God is doing in the lives of His people.
Tonight we will continue the Series on Victory and will be talking about Claiming the Anointing.
ANOINT'ING, participle present tense Smearing with oil; pouring on oil, or other oleaginous substance; consecrating.
ANOINT'ING, noun The act of smearing with oil; a consecrating.
I have taught about the court room of heaven before.
It is actually the first place to claim the anointing you were given.
1 Satan tries to steal or gain access to keep it from you in Heaven’s court
2 Once you ask the court for Favor and Anointing in the court room of Heaven, then his access to keep you from what God has for our is null and void.
Years ago Debbie and I would go to a place called “Unclaimed Freight”.
It was a store that had every kind of item possible.
Most of it was freight that the railway and trucking companies close would have left uncliamed by their customers.
I see the anointing in much the same way.
We had it apportioned to us and we allowed the devil to take it from us for whatever reasons.
Now is the time to go back into the courtroom of heaven and claim our anointing.
Claim our unclaimed freight if you will.
The Court
Daniel 7:8–14 (NKJV)
I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots.
And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.
“I watched till thrones were put in place,
And the Ancient of Days was seated;
His garment was white as snow,
And the hair of His head was like pure wool.
His throne was a fiery flame,
Its wheels a burning fire;
A fiery stream issued
And came forth from before Him.
A thousand thousands ministered to Him;
Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him.
The court was seated,
And the books were opened.
“I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame.
As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
“I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, One like the Son of Man,
Coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days,
And they brought Him near before Him.
Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
Which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom the one
Which shall not be destroyed.
Although the Devil tries to steal you anointing catch this..
2 Peter 1:1–3 (NKJV)
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
We talked about this recently.
We are the righteousness of God.
Therefore we are one of God’s elect.
Why do we allow Satan to continue to bring false accusations against us?
Once our sins are under the blood then we need to go and reclaim the day.
Romans 8:33 (NKJV)
Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect?
It is God who justifies.
Once we have ourselves in correct position for the anointing.
Once we have ourselves in right standing then… then… we can ask!
1 Kings 19:11–18 (NKJV)
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.”
And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave.
Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword.
I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
Then the Lord said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.
Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel.
And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.
It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.
Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”
We need to be rightly positioned.
In otherwords we need to be in the right spot with God.
We have to be willing vessels that God can use.
Many times we see the task as too great, to much to comprehend, but God will not give us more than we can handle.
We see that Elisha was rightly positioned in the eyes of God as he told Elijah to anoint him Prophet in his place.
This is all well and good but we still have to be willing as I said just a second ago.
1 Kings 19:19–21 (NKJV)
So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth.
Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him.
And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.”
And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate.
Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.
I want to hit on a couple of things here.
It was one thing to be willing, but it is another to be willing to serve.
Serve not only the Prophet but also the people.
I have seen and met many people that want the anointing but they aren’t willing to serve.
I want what you have but I am going to disrespect you, I am going to talk smack about you.
Hear me!
That won’t and doesn’t fly.
Just as Elisha was ask to leave all and follow, Debbie and I had a similar experience where the Lord spoke to me and said leave all and follow me.
We did and we have and the road hasn’t always been fun or easy, but God is so good at taking care of whatever we need.
Check this out!
It is a hard thing you ask, but if you hang with me....
2 Kings 2:1–15 (NKJV)
And it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.”
